Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Missing has been cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t succeed? How long should have the show realistically lasted — one season, two, three or more?

I really liked that show and was looking forward to it’s return to find out what happened to her and who took her out of the car. Damn ABC give shows a chance, I’m sure you will now stick something in that time slot that no one likes. I see a show call The Mistress, wonder how long that will last. NO WOMAN will want to watch a show about a cheating husband/boyfriend, etc. Ugh!
Finally a show that my husband looked forward to watching with me…we have been counting the time for the new season….can’t believe it…!!!
BRING IT BACK…..!!!!!!
We loved Missing. Love Ahley Judd!!! So disappointed it won’t be back on. Wished they would bring it back, even for one more season!!!
I’m very disappointed at the low ratings, criously.missing was so unique and had the best twists and turns.pliz bring it bck.curious to know wat happend to becca
“Missing” was an action packed thriller- I don’t agree with ABC cancelling it!
Missing was an awesome show and I would love to see it come back! I think a better night and different times will boost ratings.
I can’t believe that ABC cancelled Missing! Bad, very BAD decision. It was one of the best shows on television. I am very disappointed. Bring Missing back!
MISSING is amazing. Please bring it back. Canceling was such a BIG mistake….
I am really disappointed and not going to get involved in any other series for this reason. When you become interested they cancel the show. To put on some other nonsense. Really tired of TV going back to reading so I can conclude the ending. Thanks for leading the public onto your showing and letting all who watched down.
Just when you like and get into a show, the big wigs in theri infinate wisdom cancel it,
grrrrrr
BRING BACK MISSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does not surprise me you get something good for a change and you cancel it. That was the only reason I had to even watch your channel.
SO disappointed, my family and I just loved that show! It switched nights mid way through the season so I’m wondering if that’s one of the reasons that it lost some viewers.
It’s hard to find a good show full of suspense and thrills, this one certainly did it for me!
So dissapointed, one of the best shows, exciting and intelligent. Hope ABC reconsiders the decision.
Though there were low ratings for Missing, it was awesome because of Ashley Judd, the action and the scenery. I loved the show because it entertained me, and wasn’t shoving “reality” down my throat. Too many people would rather watch reality shows; who wants to watch that crap when real life sucks enough. Thanks ABC, you blew it this time. Please bring it back.
