Over the weekend, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler confirmed that the Three Rivers TV show had indeed been cancelled. Now that Alex O’Loughlin is finished with that series, does that mean that Moonlight will be coming back?
Moonlight follows private investigator and vampire Mick St. John (O’Loughlin) and Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), an Internet reporter. St. John saved Beth’s life as a child and the two develop a romantic relationship years later. Others in the series include Jason Dohring, Shannyn Sossamon, and Brian J. White
Though Moonlight had decent ratings and a devout group of followers, CBS decided to cancel the series after just one season. The network wanted to stay in business with O’Loughlin however and that eventually led to him being cast in Three Rivers.

While some Moonlight fans followed O’Loughlin to the new series, many didn’t. Some people who have posted to this site have said that they refused to watch Three Rivers in hopes that this would somehow convince/force CBS to revive Moonlight.
Now that Three Rivers has been officially cancelled, will Moonlight be back? While Tassler proudly takes credit for being ahead of the current vampire craze, she says that the network has no plans to revive the little-watched cult favorite.
Despite his show’s low ratings, Tassler does still believe in O’Loughlin’s talent and said, “We’re trying to find something for him.”

like the previous comment. He’s wonderful, I want him on TV in just about anything, being a doctor just wasn’t as good as a Vampire, I really think they should give Moonlight another try!
It is a shame that CBS would cancel Moonlight and another good show with Three Rivers, while they leave the same old csi,csi,csi,ncis..ect and then the dumb one Survior, why don’t you put them in northern Alaska for six week, then they might be real surviors. CBS is pushing people to NBC, ABC and FOX. Why didn’t you give Three Rivers a good time slot like Monday night at 10pm and see how well it would do.

Three Rivers was simply an ill-conceived, boring, predictable show. Gee, who’ll get/not get a heart-wrenching chance at a transplant this week. No one could keep such a lame premise going for long. And Alex is way better in a show with a sense of humor. Too bad CBS execs were brain-dead when they cancelled Moonlight for the even shorter-lived “Ex-List.” If I doesn’t have “CSI” in front of it, they aren’t sure what to do…..
I don’t think his Moonlight fans are stifling his career. Three Rivers was a completely different genre from Moonlight and it was the same story every week with no variations in it cases.
I dont care what kind of show he is in I just want him back on tv I miss seeing that hot man

I was greatly disappointed when Moonlight was cancelled, then when I found out that Alex was doing Three Rivers I was excited! If I couldn’t get Alex on Moonlight then Three Rivers would work! Please bring one of them back Alex is a GREAT actor and I love everything he does!

Please oh please bring back Moonlight. It was the cutting edge of the vampire craze and as usual CBS axes any show with a following. Take for example Jericho, huge hit, CBS axes it. CBS is last in almost any rating poll running along with NBC….Please someone pick up Moonlight and tape some new episodes! Alex has a huge fan base!
I strongly believe that Moonlight should return! Yeah vampires weren’t really ‘in’ until late 2008 but now they are… I think it would be awesome if it returned because a lot of people love the show… It’s awesome! I’ve been watching it lately and I can’t believe it’s over! Please, please, please air some more Moonlight!

Moonlight has touched and continues to touch the lives of so many people! Isn’t that what it is all about??? Creating a show that truly moves people? Brilliant writing, casting and acting. Moonlight is the diamond in the rough, a unique gem that abruptly ended way before its time.
CBS Please, please, please bring Moonlight back. I Love This Series. It’s the best Vampire Series Ever!! I’ve been waiting for three years for some kind of news like this. It would be a dream come true. Literally I have had dreams about Season 2 Episode 1. I’m sick and tired of this reality TV it sucks so much, every time I want to watch a good show I put my season of Moonlight in. Yes, Moonlight needs to be resurrected…It definitely made Alex famous…He really shines in the role of “Mick St.John”…the entire show was well written and extremely well cast…everyone involved was exceptional.
I loved Moonlight. It was a great vampire show before all the twilght hype . And now there is the vampire diaries and that is just a joke.
Yes, I agree with everything said, I definately fell in love with Moonlight and all the Characters, but especially Alex. This is when I found out about this terrific actor and have since watched everything (movies, TV) that hes’ been in. The chemistry between Mick and Beth was just amazing and I totally “lost” myself in each and every story. Again, as everyone else has said, “Please bring Mooonlight Back” I really don’t care which network picks it up, just bring it back!!
i think syfy should pick it up, if they could. they are already playing the reruns. they could start it as a new sumer series, or next fall. if the show fit in anywhere thats where it would be. lets cross our fingers!
