Murphy Brown is back! Deadline reports CBS has ordered a reboot of the Candice Bergen TV show.
Created by Diane English, the sitcom originally premiered in 1988 and starred Bergen as the titular Murphy Brown, a recovering alcoholic and investigative journalist who returns to host the fictional TV news program, FYI. The cast also included Faith Ford, Pat Corley, Charles Kimbrough, and Lily Tomlin. The show ran on CBS for 10 seasons before ending in 1998.
CBS has ordered 13 episodes for their Murphy Brown reboot, which will see the return of both Bergen and creator Diane English.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Murphy Brown? Will you watch the revival?
Looking forward to this revived show!
WHY….WHY……WHY…..WHAT IS THIS TELEVISION COMING TO. ARE THEY JUST GOING TO BRING BACK OLD SHOWS AND CANCEL ALL THE NEW ONES. THIS IS B.S. PUT YOUR BIG BOY PANTIES ON AND TELL THE BIG GUY. I WILL SHOW WHAT I WANT. NO MORE REBOOT
NO MORE REBOOTS!!!!!
NO MORE REBOOTS!!!!!
NO MORE REBOOTS!!!!!
NO MORE REBOOTS!!!!!
I can’t wait for this reboot. I think it will be done well, I hope it will not be too political but there is so much going now in the current political climate that a show like this is needed. Whether you are on the right or left this show could be re-booted to everyone’s taste. I really can not wait!
Not every show needs to be rebooted.
I think it’s another attempt by one of the MSM to put on a show where they can have their lead say smart arse things about President Trump. It never stops with the MSM. It’s sick.
If they can get the team back, it will be good. (bar tendered I know died)
Oh yeah I’ll be watching! With the current US political scene, it won’t take much to write some fall-off-your-chair laughing (and crying) satire. And who better than Candice Bergen! How refreshing to see her in her glory once again, at the helm of the “ship”.
Murphy Brown is my hero! I was just watching the reunion special on youtube last week. I can’t wait to watch the new show.
OMG, PLEASE, NOT ANOTHER STUPID REBOOT , won’t watch even if you tape my eyeballs open
i love the show. i look for word to watching with my parents.they love the show too.
WHYYYY????? I can only assume they are bringing these shows back because the younger generations aren’t watching regular tv so they’re trying to regain the older generations with these old shows. I thought the older people weren’t in the demographic they were trying to please?
I never watched, so will probably not..
I will definitely watch Murphy Brown again !!!
I will definitely watch it! Yes, a lot of water has gone under the bridge since it finished, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be as relevant and wonderfully comedic as it used to be if it has good writers.
I had wondered why “Murphy Brown” had been over-looked, but am not really keen on the idea of it returning in the present day with new episodes…While it’s nice to get to see characters that we know again, shows that had a good run–especially 10 seasons–are usually wrapped-up and get yo live on in reruns with the charscters as we remembered them–not some contrived “modern-day” version that’s just bit what the show was (:-S). With all the sitcom/show revivals, spin-offs, “reboota” (those are the worst :-\), it feels like there are no new ideas anymore, and like everyone is desparately… Read more »
The thing with bringing back the shows from the 80’s and 90’s is they won’t be as good because they’ll have to be so pc
wasn’t a problem for Will and Grace and I am sure uber LIBRAL bergen won;t have problem bashing trump, republicans, conservatives, christians…
