The Night Shift is expanding the team. According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Missy Peregrym and Rachelle Lefevre have been cast in potentially major roles on the NBC TV show.
The medical drama takes place in an San Antonio Emergency Room. The cast includes Robert Bailey Jr., Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Brendan Fehr, Scott Wolf, Tanaya Beatty, and JR Lemon.
Both Peregrym and Lefevre will make their debut appearance on the season four finale of The Night Shift. Peregrym will play “Reagan, a female Ranger who comes in as a paramedic and clashes with Drew (Brendan Fehr)” and Lefebre has been cast as “Major Natasha Anthony, a new military doctor coming into San Antonio Memorial Hospital.”
If the NBC series is renewed for a fifth season, both stars are set to return.

I find it interesting that both actresses are “summer” stars: Peregrym from ROOKIE BLUE and Lefevre from UNDER THE DOME. They’re also both Canadian, and as I presume all but the San Antonio exteriors are filmed there, that can’t be a coincidence. (I like them both, so to answer the question, I’m delighted they’ll be regulars.)
As I understand it, the show is filmed in Albuquerque, NM.

This show is amazing. I hope it doesn’t get cancelled. I feel like its gotten big enough for it to be a fall show with 20+ episodes a season. I would definitely not get bored of it.
Love the show. But it’s already a little too “full” for a show with short seasons. Not sure we need more characters as regulars….
