Although the Outlander TV show dropped in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic in season two, the total audience actually grew by nearly five percent. Because premium cable networks rely on paid subscribers — rather than ad revenue — audience growth is more important than a show’s demo numbers. Starz was quick to respond to that growth and renewed Outlander through its fourth season, back in June of 2016. Can it build on its success? Will Outlander be cancelled or renewed for more seasons on Starz? Stay tuned.
A time travel drama, Outlander, stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser. The Starz cast also includes Tobias Menzies, Duncan Lacroix, Lotte Verbeek, Laura Donnelly, Steven Cree, Grant O’Rourke, Richard Rankin, and Sophie Skelton.
Outlander, season three, is based on the third novel in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander book series, Voyager. It picks up right after Claire (Balfe) leaves Jamie (Heughan) behind in the 18th century, and travels through the stones, back to her life in 1948. Now expecting Jamie’s baby, Claire must deal with her first husband, Frank (Menzies) and his reaction to her disappearance and return. Meanwhile, back in time, Jamie struggles with the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the Battle of Culloden, as well as the loss his soul mate. **Status update below.

Love the show hop its renewed after 2014
I love the show some that I watch it over . I like to see the all the books made to watch what you come up with how it will play not to leave us hang it not the same as what we read .
Loving it! Should be absolutely renewed. Paying in Germany for RTL Passion to get in original one day later than Stars is showing it so that I can follow the social media and podcasts.
It romance at it’s best. The last romantic couple on TV was Meredith and Dr. McDreamy. I hope it lasts. I have withdrawal after one week off. I’m enjoying all of the characters. I held my breath during the firing squad scene. Anyway…its a great epic show.
Outlander is the only reason I’m subscribing to Starz. They’d better keep the show alive. Love Jamie and Claire and their love story. Love the love scenes. Love how women are portrayed. It’s all so well done from the storylines, costumes, integrity of Jamie Fraser.
I agree. I will cancel Starz if Outlander is canceled!
Pay to watch Outlander on Starz.
Read all the books. I introduced my daughter and all her friends to the Starz series.
We love the actors, set design, fantasy and the historic story line.
Diana Gabaldon has such a way with words, it is great the series borrows from her books.
Refreshing to have a story told from a woman’s perspective. Hope more women producers will have a say in the series.
Fans are devoted to watch entire series on Starz!!!
Pay for Starz to watch Outlander.
After reading all the books, I introduced my daughter and her friends to the
Starz Outlander series.
Love the casting, acting, sets and historic story line.
Keeping to the great writing from Diana Gabaldon’s books is a must. The story is from a woman’s perspective. More women should have a hand in the production process). The threads in the story line were well crafted by Gabaldon.
Fans will follow the entire series.
I couldn’t wait for season 3. I pay for starz so I can watch outlander. I want it to keep going 4,5,6 ect… this is my favorite love story ever, on tv. Plz don’t do like other network and cancel something everyone loves and can’t wait to come on. They do that alot.outlander and stay had my bouts.
I’m 58 years old so outside the 18 to 49 demo range. My wife and I never miss an episode of Outlander and we are following season 3 closely. Its great entertainment. We look forward to season 4 and hope STARZ will decide to renew again for 2 seasons with Diana Gabaldon’s 5th and and 6 books in the series, “Fiery Cross” and “Snow and Ash”. One can only hope, but we love Outlander.
My husband and I fall into the 18-49 demo category. We just started watching “Outlander” this season. We do not subscribe to STARZ but purchase the episodes from Amazon. Are the numbers in the chart only reflective of STARZ subscribers?? I hope not. We are loving “Outlander”!!!
Outlander is the only reason I have Starz.
