CBS has already cancelled Person of Interest so the ratings don’t matter as much for the final, fifth season. However, if the numbers are strong enough, could the network or studio decide to make a sixth season anyway? Stay tuned.
On Person of Interest, a presumed dead former-CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) and a mysterious billionaire (Michael Emerson) work together to prevent violent crimes in New York City. The rest of the cast includes Kevin Chapman, Sarah Shahi, and Amy Acker.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
6/22 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of Person of Interest averaged a 1.53 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.42 million total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a sixth season instead?
please renew, show is awesome
Please renew…..Please
I love the show! Please renew!
Unfortunate the show was cancelled…I found it was well written, entertaining and good action. I would make a few changes in the storyline but the show was a regular staple on my TV menu. Will miss it, sad to see it go!
Maybe some of the shows content was hitting to near to the Truth in Real life
Keep the show going. I loved it. Very interesting and exciting.
My wife and I have watched POI from the beginning. Several of our shows are being cancelled. A lot of the new series coming on appear to appeal to folks other than my wife and I. It’s a shame an excellent show like this can’t stay. I concur with some of the other comments expressed here, my wife and I will bias our viewing to other than CBS, as management there doesn’t seem to want family folks like my wife and I, as do, apparently, their advertizers. I do hope another network will pickup this series, maybe even bring back… Read more »
P O I ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON TV.I’VE BEEN WATCHING IT FROM THE START. DIDN’T LIKE TO SEE JOHN N ROOT KILLED. IT SHOULD’VE BEEN BROUGHT BACK FOR SEASON SIX.MAYBE ANOTHER NETWORK WILL BRING IT BACK IN SOME FORM. MY FAMILY N I WILL THIS GREAT SHOW. THANK U TO ALL CAST MEMBERS N CREW THAT MADE THE SHOW POSSIBLE.
Unfortunately, this series is like a number of others…it skews older in the ratings than the coveted 18-49 demographic group. In addition it is produced by WB, not CBS, so they do not get the $$$ from reruns. That’s why it is done. That said, it is still better than all those carbon-copy, cookie cutter CBS crime procedurals such as the CSI and NCIS franchises. Well, written, produced, and acted…and I will be buying the DVDs.
What renewal? They’ll transcend right to dvd after it’s over and going to live there in reruns mode. With 99,6% accuracy but still. It’s like they’ve never been canceled.
If season 3 and 4 of Person of Interest had the intensity of the last couple of shows, it may have kept more of the audience and not been cancelled. I feel the Samaritan story line was a major drag and nearly cost the viewership for me.
Renew renew renew renew. This show is unique beyond all comparison. I know for a fact that no one my age (19) round here watches it, but it is worth the save. Its production quality is unmatched, its cast is phenominal, its storyline is touching on things that are absent in every other show on tv. The morals of the characters are so respectable. Jim Caviezel’s John Reese is the coolest character known to man. Please… this show holds true to the values I was rasied up to believe– UNLIKE ALMOST EVERY OTHER SHOW ON AIR in today’s society. ITS… Read more »
if this show is so awesome, why do more and more fans keep tuning out?
oh right, the more amy acker/root, the lower the ratings
TRUTH.
A Root-centric episode had a rather satisfying ratings and as a lead-in it was able to keep audiences’ attention so this statement about fans “tuning out” is based on a personal hate towards Ms.Acker and her character.
Also, Root barely had any screen time during season 5 so most people were tuning out because of either Reese or Finch who are still the centre of the show.
I was saddened to hear that POI was being cancelled. I guess CBS likes loosing money. This show could would have been one of the great ones. SHAME ON YOU CBS!!!!!
In the future, I will make sure that a show I like does not air on CBS for fear of it being cancelled.
How could CBS stop POI! Plz do not cancel the sixth season. #Diehardfan
Plz renew it. It is the best serial i’ve ever seen.
