NBC has been promoting Persons Unknown as a mini-series and that the show’s mysteries will be answered by the end. The show has not performed well in the ratings so hopefully the network will let all 13 episodes air.
If they do pull the series early, the show is scheduled to be put out on DVD. According to Amazon, it’s scheduled for an August 31st release but that’s likely to change because NBC won’t have aired all of the episodes until early September.
Some readers have noticed that the DVD set is titled Persons Unknown: The Complete First Season
Executive Producer Remi Aubuchon recently told Collider that, when they were shooting it, they did so believing it would be an on-going series. Though they wanted it to go on, he made sure that they answered all of the questions by the end of the first season, to make it a satisfying story for viewers.
Could there be another season? Aubuchon said, “It’s not unheard of, in the course of life, that if there’s enough interest in it, we could consider going a second season or doing another chapter. I keep looking at it as books in a series, and this season is the first book. I feel confident that we will have a beginning, middle and end, in this season, and it was wise of NBC to then call it what it really is, which is a mini-series.”
He continued, “24 is a really good example, in that there was a definitive beginning, middle and end for the first season. They had a slightly different format than we have, but the second season just retained Jack Bauer and a few other players, with the same basic format and idea, but it was a completely different show. I’m not saying that that’s exactly where we’re going, but certainly I think that there’s room for saying, ‘Hey, look, we told one story of a continuing saga.’ You should be able to pick this book up and get to the last line of the season and go, ‘Wow! Well, I hope there’s a second season, but at least I feel satisfied that I got to see all of this. They answered it all for me.”
Unfortunately, it looks unlikely that NBC would be interested in another season but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t return on another channel or in another form.

just watched first season in uk. initialy thought it was great till finale- janet back with her little girl but she woke up back in the same room!!!!!!!! being the mother of a six year old little girl myself i found this very disturbing and distressing.
back to the show only one can survive they are all back together they know the score. how will Joe cope with Mark no one is supposed to know anyone 7 strangers!!!!
I love this show, and would really like for it to be contuined. I hope that it will get approved for another season!!!

Another season PLEASE!
I just watched the season on Netflix and in the beginning I wan’t all that into it because they weren’t really going anywhere with the story, but now that I have finished it I am hooked. I really do hope that they come out with another season, especially since the way they ended the first one. I know why some people may have not gotten really into it and quit watching part way through the first season but once you get a little over half way it is an extremely great tv series.
Please have a second season… I almost started crying I was so upset that the first season was over and that I had no more episodes to watch.
Please make a second season believe it could be the next Lost or Heros
The series is incredible. I absolutely LOVE it. I watched the entire series for about 2 days. I actually just completed it. I am HOOKED. I love the story line. I was very pleased and actually figured a lot of things out before watching the next episodes. I actually loved the suspense. Just amazing…Please please continue this series.
What a wonderful series – a cross between Lost and the original series of The Prisoner – please let there be another series – I am hooked!

I couldn’t get enough of this programme and I don’t think they finished it off nice and neatly! They put them on a ship for gods sake!! It really is something that I would watch more of!
We definitely need another season, it was captivating TV, so great to finally get a really good series to watch. Cannot understand why the ratings were poor and why NBC won’t persevere with it! BRING IT BACK please!!!

I absolutely loved this series. I kept coming back waiting watch the next episode. I sure hope you do continue the series I would love to see a new beginning with everyone from the old series and also see them move onto the next level. It was such an exciting series. Please please continue this series on television/book. I was hooked!!
