The team members on the Pure Genius TV show work together to save lives. It’s a noble cause but will their stories attract enough viewers to bring big ratings? Will this new CBS TV series be cut down in its prime (cancelled) or, will it be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Pure Genius follows top medical professionals as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. Others on the team are played by Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Pure Genius TV show on CBS? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?
5/15/17 update: CBS has cancelled Pure Genius after one season. Details here.
Please continue with a season 2!
Wonderful to watch a tv sow not based on nudity, immoralities and entertains the mind.
The acting and writing is superb.
The premise is hopeful.

Wonderful show . Shows how medicine hopefully will be in the future. Please give Season 2 a chance.
This has been my favorite series so far this year. It’s theme, scripts and actors are great. They are always interesting, positive and give us hope for the future. I hope you give it another chance perhaps on another night.
Please keep this on, it is a refreshing breath of fresh air.
Keep this show on it is a refreshing breath of fresh air.
This show will be cancelled. .
Please keep!! I love this show it gives a person hope. If it do that well move it to another time slot or night but don’t cancel it!! Give it another chance to be seen, PLEASE!!
Please keep this show on TV! I look forward to it every week, and have introduced my friends to the show and they love it, as well. Pure Genius gives an emotional substance to every episode, and it brings a refreshing taste to medical shows; nothing is too big for the bunker hill staff. No is not an answer, and the innovations are heartwarming to watch. I will be severely irritated if this show hurts canceled and a stupid comedy that has been too many times such as “Kevin Can Wait” stays on the air. Please, please, please keep this… Read more »
this show is a complete waste of bandwidth
PLEASE keep Pure Genius rolling. It will catch on given a better slot. Going against The Blacklist was totally unfair for a new concept show.
Excuse me? The ratings for The Blacklist have been horrendous this season. It is one of the lowest rated scripted shows on NBC this season. There is no doubt that Pure Genius will be cancelled.
Feel good shows generally have an uphill climb which is unfortunate
I really hope CBS picks this up for another season, each episode is getting better and better and I’m hooked! This is a great show, with a wonderful cast and an amazing story.
My favorite show. A positive message amidst a sea of negativity and violence. Need a season 2!
Pure Genius is a A+ show. Please bring it back
Please keep pure genius. This is a good feeling show we need. If a show like colony or zombie shows can make it then why on real earth can’t this feel good show. Deserves to make season 2
