The team members on the Pure Genius TV show work together to save lives. It’s a noble cause but will their stories attract enough viewers to bring big ratings? Will this new CBS TV series be cut down in its prime (cancelled) or, will it be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Pure Genius follows top medical professionals as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. Others on the team are played by Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Pure Genius TV show on CBS? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?
5/15/17 update: CBS has cancelled Pure Genius after one season. Details here.
Please keep this show. I really enjoy it. While the medical techniques are futuristic, the writers and actors are able to make it seem realistic. It is also hopeful in a time when most tv shows are violent or sexually explicit. The acting is so good and it is welcome to see a diverse cast. My friends also are devoted fans. I look forward to each episode and will miss the show if you cancel such a well done program.
I completely agree with this comment
PLEASE KEEP! This is the smartest, most enjoyable series on television! The characters and the stories are amazing.
This actually a great show….human characters with flaws, real situations and a mix of technology. Don’t cancel the show….it’s a quirky, lighter look at medicine.
Keep!
Please, please, please do not cancel this show. It is one of the best on TV. Augustus Prew is Pure Genius in his portrayal of James Bell. I really need to see more of this show. PLEASE!
Pure Genius is actually that! Please do no cancel this show. It’s one of the most original shows on TV and needs to stay. Give it one more season, and you will see the number of viewers grow. Although, that is not always the case for keeping a show. How about, It’s the right thing to do.
Please keep this show for another season. It is so hopeful. Everyone we know who watches it, loves it. The chemistry of the cast is so natural and convincing, the relationships so engrossing. Keep this fascinating, high quality show on. It would bring joy to many.
Please renew this show! I love it. There is nothing else like it on tv.
I love this show! It is hopeful, inspiring and great acting. PLEASE don’t cancel. There is so little quality on TV and this is one worth saving!
The network HAS TO keep this show. The material is so fresh and uplifting! I will be so upset if Pure Genius does not return!
I love this show! The first couple episodes it was hard to get into the characters but once you start watching it it is amazing and inspirational and I hope that they give it another chance and publicize it and get more viewers.
PLEASE RENEW!!!!!!!!
Why cancel a show that is so uplifting? Far fetched? Perhaps. But hopeful for future.
I love this show. Try moving to a better time slot before you cancel. It deserves that much.
Please renew Pure Genius it is a wonderful show it gives you hope in these times of dismay.
