This team of geeks and misfits is sticking together. CBS has renewed the Scorpion TV show for a fourth season which will air as part of the 2017-18 broadcast season.
Airing on the CBS television network, Scorpion revolves around computer expert Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. They’re this country’s last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats. The quirky masterminds have found the perfect job: a place where they can apply their exceptional brainpower to solve the nation’s crises, while also helping each other learn how to fit in. The series also stars Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Riley B. Smith.
Season three kicked off in October 2016 and 20 installments have aired so far. Ratings-wise, Scorpion is averaging a 1.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.26 million viewers. Year-to-year, that’s down by 31% in the demo and down by 25% in viewers. To be fair, the show did shift to a later timeslot.
With these declines, Scorpion is currently in the middle of the pack among CBS’ other current scripted series. The renewal isn’t a surprise, however. It’s co-produced by CBS Television Studios and a fourth season will give the series plenty of episodes for a syndication package. Could season four be the end? We’ll have to wait and see.
What do you think? Do you like the Scorpion TV show on CBS? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a fourth season? Should it have been cancelled instead?
Glad to have this series renewed. Good McGyver type show.
Glad it was renewed. Moving it to 10 est was a mistake. I think the younger market would like to watch.
I do like the show… I know it is quirky and cheesy at many points. Overall, it has a good lasting appeal, and atleast for me a rewatchability factor. I always try to catch the latest episode, ten o’clock is a little late for me though. Which is why I love the CBS app, I can watch the latest episodes the day after they air. Since then, I have decided to pay for all access, for me it is worth it as I also enjoy a few of the other shows on CBS. Plus being able to watch the late… Read more »
I enjoy it very much even with a high iq
my high school gave me the test in 11th grade 192
of course that was 50 years ago
I absolutely love this show!!! Really glad to here it’s being renewed. Brilliant that Walter and Paige finally got together. I watch it here in the UK… hopefully they’ll carry on making more after season 4 is done!
I enjoy the show very much and wish they would put it back on at 9:00 P.M. It’s a family show and the later start time takes away some of it’s viewers. “Two Broke Girls” would be more appropriate for the 10:00 P.M. slot I even like the repeats – it helps me understand more of how they solved all the problems given them.
Mary: I agree. The only way I get to watch it is to record it and watch it the next day.
Hilariously funny, quirky, a bit of love and intelligence…what’s not to love!!
Love this show. Great story lines and the characters back stories and personal struggles including their relationships draw you in. Please keep making more series.
Love this show, a decent family show. Not political snark.
These last 3 seasons are great. Makes me laugh at the problems they face as super smart people. Enjoy very much watching. Can’t wait to see Season 3 Episode 25.
