Faster than a speeding bullet, Smallville vet, Tom Welling, is headed to the Tiffany network. EW has confirmed CBS is developing the drama Section 13, starring Welling. Welling will also executive produce with Carla Kettner, who is attached as writer.
After Smallville was cancelled (or ended, depending on your perspective), Welling has primarily worked in film. Kettner wrote and produced the FOX TV series, Bones, between 2007 and 2011. She also served as E.P. on The Mob Doctor, which was cancelled by FOX after 13 episodes.
EW says, “[Section 13] focuses on a CIA black ops officer-turned-private contractor (Welling) who, in the wake of a personal tragedy, joins a covert organization devoted to carrying out the most difficult high-stakes assignments.”

Its very exciting to hear of a new show with Tom Welling starring in it. I think that he has a lot of potential to explore an excellent portrayal of personal tragedy. Live action is something that I imagine he both enjoys and is good at in front of the camera so I hope that the show can be developed soon. I’ve been hoping Tom Welling would come back to TV ever since Smallville ended. Can’t wait for Section 13. BTW if CBS feels like picking up Forever, which ABC so foolishly canceled, I know a lot of us would love that too.

Plot sounds good. Love 24, hope it will be similiar. But Fox will cancel it after 12 episodes anyway.

Tom Welling was an excellent actor in Smallville I watch it from the beginning and I ran for years and years and years I love the show and I’m sure he’d be an excellent director or an actor or whatever you plan to do that’s why I love Supergirl cuz it reminds me of Smallville and that was my number one show so Tom Welling whatever you’re about to do I’m anxious to watch it and I’m sure it’ll be great
