ABC is sticking with Speechless. Variety reports the network has given a full season order to the new series.
The comedy stars Minnie Driver as Maya DiMeo, the take-charge mother of three children, including one with cerebral palsy. The cast also includes John Ross Bowie, Micah Fowler, Mason Cook, Kyla Kennedy, and Cedric Yarbrough.
So far, Speechless has done fairly well in the ratings, earning an average of 1.92 in the 18-49 demo and 6.907 million viewers. ABC has ordered 22 episodes for the show’s first season.
What do you think? Have you seen Speechless? Will you watch the full first season?
I love this show. It shows the real life every day problems that could arise while raising three children, one who has a physical disability. Not only is it funny, it’s done with great respect, and never is there any, shaming, name calling , bullying, etc. They have covered all their bases while giving us great family entertainment!
I love this show and so does my 11 year old son! It is really hilarious, I can’t understand how anyone could NOT find this show funny
My family and I LOVE this show! Especially my little brother who was diagnosed with autism at age two. He thinks it’s really awesome that ABC is airing a tv show about a disabled kid! Keep it going and make these kids feel acceptable to their peers! 🙂
I gave it an honest try for the first few episodes, but I find it boring to watch other people recite his lines.
I honestly dont find a disabled boy in a wheelchair, funny.
Love Minnie Driver in this kind of role. The whole cast is brillant as is the show idea. Love it!
I am not too excited with the show as I personally don’t find it funny..
Absolutely love it. It has the comedic rhythm and emotional tug that Scrubs pulled off for so many years. Well done!
Incredibly down to earth ❤felt. Comedic genius!
