NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the State of Affairs TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Cancel it. It sucks!
State of Affairs is a great show, and I think Katherine Hiegl i s great. NBC wake-up and
please give this show a chance…….you really do cancel good shows way too early
The show could use some improvement, but I like the concept. Please renew it!
STATE OF AFFAIRS IS FRESH, SMART, WITHGREAT ACTORS PLUS WITH THE HELP OF A CIA CONSULTANT TO THE SHOW – IT’S AN INSIDE LOOK AT WHAT REALLY GOES ON. WE FOLLOW FROM COAST TO COAST AND WOULDN’T MISS AN EPISODE. HEIGL IS PERFECT SO IS ANDY PLUS ALL OF THE CAST. THERE’S ENOUGH JUNK TV – THIS IS INTELLIGENT AND DOESN’T INSULT TV VIEWERS. PLS KEEP IN ON PLEASE – THANK YOU. WISH YOU HAD KEPT UNFORGETTABLE AS IT WAS IN FIRST YEAR – IT WAS HEART-RENDING. THE HAPPY, SILLY 2ND YR WAS A GROSS MISTAKE FOR NBC. LOTS OF… Read more »
I disagree with everything you said. especially the part about not insulting my intelligence.
Love this show!! please keep it!
When news in the big city is bad, I often turn to TMZ for a laugh or two. I watched TMZ last evening, and their first story was how members of the CIA watch State of Affairs, and tweet about the show’s many innaccuracies. There is so many things wrong on so many levels: why do members of the CIA have time to watch television and tweet?; why are members of the CIA using Twitter in the first place, and risking the possibility of exposing themselves as member of the CIA? When will SoA be shipped overseas, so that we… Read more »
Love State of Affairs for many reasons. Hope this show comes back.
I can’t pinpoint why, but I absolutely love this show, and I really didn’t think I would, especially because it followed The Blacklist. Must be my fascination with the CIA and the interworkings of government (even if this show is a completely inaccurate depiction). I’m hooked, please don’t cancel!!
I love this show, however I can’t ever watch it on Monday nights so the DVR or On Demand helps me catch the latest episodes please don’t cancel.
Show is exhibiting declining ratings. Heigl has absolutely no ability to carry a series by herself. She is terribly miscast in this role with her severely limited acting ability. About time to tell her and her mom ADIOS!
Why ANYONE would give her an opportunity with a new series considering her and her mom’s past behavoir is beyond me. She thinks way too highly of herself.
You are exactly right and I couldn’t have stated it better myself!!!
Please cancel State of Affairs – it is painful to watch such no talent actors.
My husband and I love State of Affairs. The script is brilliantly written and keeps us on the edge of our seats. Please pick up for a second season!
This is a great show. It is smarter than most. Give it a chance…not as many people watch new programs around Christmas. I’m tired of NBC canceling shows I like. Forces me to go to HBO etc more. Stay with the program for a change.
I totally agree!!! NBC never gives shows a chance. If they cancel this one I don’t know that I’ll watch any more series they come out with. Hope they keep State of Affairs!
looks like SoA is DOA
We Love State of Affairs!!
