NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

Something has to be wrong with these ratings, I don’t know anyone that doesn’t like this show..
I know many people who enjoy this excellent show. NBC really needs to save this one. Quite authentic and real life like. On the same realm with Homeland.

I really enjoy the acting the characters story lines. It would be a shame if this great show was to be cancelled. I like it better than Madam Secretary and CBS saved it. NBC do the same don’t make a serious mistake.
