NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the State of Affairs TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please don’t cancel!
Please don’t cancel!
a great show, if u cancel State of Affairs u r stupid.
State of Affairs and Mysteries of Laura should both be renewed! Please
Ths show is well scripted and acted, with a plot that we can all relate to. Each episode keeps us glued to our seats! PLEASE RENEW FOR ANOTHER SEASON. Some of the most stupid reality shows get renewed and shows with true substance get cancelled. I think you are playing to the teen crowd viewers and those of us adults with brains lose out on shows worth watching. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL YET ANOTHER GREAT SERIES.
Best show of this genre since 24. I hope it’s not canceled.
My son and I have enjoyed watching every week, and when a show like this leaves you disturbed then the actors are doing a good job. The show is intriguing, character development is very good causing the viewer to hold out hope for the emerging heroes. The twists and turns of each plot keep the story line interesting. We would hope to see the show State of Affairs continue for a second season.
State of Affairs is one of the few shows that I await with great anticipation each week. NBC needs to promote it, not cancel it!
I LOVE THIS SHOW. PLEASE DO NOT EVEN MENTION THE WORD CANCEL!!
Absolutely LOVE this show! I think being up against Mon night football is tough for any show. NBC just let Parenthood go…please give State of Affairs a chance w a 2nd season. Maybe a new night! Big mistake to cancel this show. I have found this so captivating and similar to what is going on the world today. I think Alfre Woodard, Katie Heigl and Chris McKenna have been phenomenal as is the rest of the cast!
This show is absolutely fantastic! The best on television. The acting is top-notch. Katherine Heigel and Alfre Woodard are amazing. I will be so disappointed if it is not renewed. Possibly putting it at a different time slot might help next season. Once it catches on viewers will be hooked!!
PLEASE DON’T CANCEL!!! It’s a great SHOW!!! I HOPE I’M NOT TOO LATE!!!
Please do not cancel. Finally a show that makes you think! Not another mindless reality show.
Love this show. It’s relevant and I love the ensemble cast. Katherine Heigl is excellent. I will continue to watch. Please DO NOT CANCEL!!!
I love this show! Keep it!! Renew for second season!!
