Swamp Thing hasn’t been squashed. Recently, director James Wan confirmed the upcoming DC Universe TV show has not been cancelled.
The superhero drama follows Abby Arcane as “she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.” The cast includes Virginia Madsen, Andy Bean, Crystal Reed, Will Patton, and Jennifer Beals.
Earlier this month, rumors surfaced that Swamp Thing had been cancelled because production was shut down early. Now, director James Wan says the show will premiere on DC Universe as planned. The first season will only have 10 episodes instead of the originally planned 13.
Swamp Thing debuts on DC Universe on May 31st.
