Bones has been a quiet hit for FOX but the same can’t be said for its spin-off, The Finder. FOX has now cancelled the low-rated series after one season.
The Finder is a procedural series that revolves around a man (Geoff Stults) with the extraordinary ability to help people find the unfindable. Other castmembers include Maddie Hasson, Mercedes Masohn, and Michael Clarke Duncan.
The spin-off debuted on January 12th to a disappointing 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.50 million total viewers. It was fourth in its Thursday night timeslot right out of the gate and lost nearly 30% of the all-important demo from its compatible lead-in, Bones. This was not a good start.

Things picked up a bit in the following weeks, thanks in large part to the show having FOX’s blockbuster American Idol as a lead-in. Still, the numbers weren’t as high as they should have been.
After seven weeks on the air, FOX put Finder on hiatus and then moved it to Friday nights, giving its Thursday timeslot to Touch. If The Finder could maintain a healthy percentage of its viewers after the switch, it would likely garner a renewal.
But that didn’t happen and Finder’s numbers dropped like a rock. In its first Friday airing, the freshman series attracted a 1.1 demo rating — an episode-to-episode loss of 53% — with just 4.03 million viewers. The numbers for future episodes fluctuated a bit but didn’t really get any more encouraging. The network could do just as well or better by running cheaper reality programming.
The season finale of The Finder is set to air this Friday night and there won’t be any episodes after that. Hopefully the producers saw the writing on the wall early enough and won’t leave viewers hanging with any major unresolved storylines.

Its funny this show didn’t work on FOX but is a fairly large hit on NETFLIX. I really think NETFLIX should do its thing and buy it out, making it a ‘NETFLIX original.’ Its also really disappointing that if they ever really did revive the show that Michael Duncan would not be able to fill his roll and would have to be killed off in a robbery of the Ends of the Earth. but this would make a powerful first episode. Loved the show after warming up to it, then could not quit watching. It was fun, the characters compelling and the story line intriguing. Bring it back please!
Love this show! The characters are likable and the episodes stayed intriguing til the end. I am sooooooo upset that it was cancelled! So many loose ends leave questions that will never be answered. Bring this show back!!!!!
I love this show found it on netflix too .. I hate reality tv everytime a good show comes on it gets cancelled this sucks…:(
IT WAS A VERY WATCHABLE PROGRAM BUT WHEN YOU SLOTTEFD IT TO FRIDAY NIGHT MAYBE IF YOU HAD TAKEN IT TO MON TUE OR WED IT WOULD HAVE SURVIVED.

I found out about the show on netflix and fell in love with it. What happens to Willa as she travels the road to expect from her marriage to Tibo? Now I will never know. This is so disappointing. The shows I have really come to enjoy have been discontinued. I just don’t think the show has been tested against the right demographics.

I just watched all 13 episodes on Netflix. Too bad FOX cancelled this show – it’s a great show.

This show is awesome! Found it on Netflix the other day. Someone should definitely pick this show up before it is forgotten about and continue it into season 2.
Great show , found it on netflix. If tv don’t pick it up netfix should. With a lot more advertisement it would f made it. I want more but who could replace Micheal Clark Duncan.
