Bones has been a quiet hit for FOX but the same can’t be said for its spin-off, The Finder. FOX has now cancelled the low-rated series after one season.
The Finder is a procedural series that revolves around a man (Geoff Stults) with the extraordinary ability to help people find the unfindable. Other castmembers include Maddie Hasson, Mercedes Masohn, and Michael Clarke Duncan.
The spin-off debuted on January 12th to a disappointing 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.50 million total viewers. It was fourth in its Thursday night timeslot right out of the gate and lost nearly 30% of the all-important demo from its compatible lead-in, Bones. This was not a good start.

Things picked up a bit in the following weeks, thanks in large part to the show having FOX’s blockbuster American Idol as a lead-in. Still, the numbers weren’t as high as they should have been.
After seven weeks on the air, FOX put Finder on hiatus and then moved it to Friday nights, giving its Thursday timeslot to Touch. If The Finder could maintain a healthy percentage of its viewers after the switch, it would likely garner a renewal.
But that didn’t happen and Finder’s numbers dropped like a rock. In its first Friday airing, the freshman series attracted a 1.1 demo rating — an episode-to-episode loss of 53% — with just 4.03 million viewers. The numbers for future episodes fluctuated a bit but didn’t really get any more encouraging. The network could do just as well or better by running cheaper reality programming.
The season finale of The Finder is set to air this Friday night and there won’t be any episodes after that. Hopefully the producers saw the writing on the wall early enough and won’t leave viewers hanging with any major unresolved storylines.

I was so upset to see that the show had been canceled.I have seen one or two episodes when is was airing on tv but could never seem to catch when it was on. so I could never keep up with the show till I found out it was on Netflix so I got my pop corn ready sat down and dove right in as I get to the end of season 1 it was such a heart melting ending that sent my mind going crazy …whats going to happen will walter get out of jail will willow ever return… Read more »
i don’t think the network.was supporting this show.around here,it came on 12 midnight,sunday.no wonder it was cancelled.michael clarke duncan’s death.just made it easy for them

the finder was cut short just like the show firefly I know the actor that plays the bar owner died but they can spin it off as the cult killed him for pay back to Walter for killing the members of the cult then willow the gypsy girl will come back for the funeral. And some how Walter will be let out jail
I just finished watching this on Netflix. What a great series! Good action, plots, characters and humor. Bring “The Finder” back!!
What a fantastic show. I did not realize it was only one season and it came as a shocker when realize I just saw the show’s finale. I truly enjoyed the show season. This is the kind of show that deserves another season or more. Very creative!!!
Hope Netflix brings it back. but please don’t move it around it’s difficult to keep track. I really enjoyed how the cross-over between Bones and the Finder worked out so great. I think it’s a great show and have been watching it on Netflix and would definitely watch it if the producers or Netflix brought it back. So when can we expect season 2???

I really got into the series I wish they would make a season 2. They left the show with such a cliff hanger, and I found this on Netflix

Yeah I didn’t know this show even existed until I saw it on Netflix. I loved it. Totally would of watched if I knew. Although now it sucks that Michael Clarke Duncan has passed which is so unfair he was a great guy and died too young. R.I.P. MichaeL you will be missed. I loved you in all your roles.
They say can’t bring it back actor died they can spin it off that he either killed himself cuz of Walter willow and his family or that the cult killed him
Just saw this series on Netflix. Didn’t know about it when it ran the first time. I agree that this show is too short-lived. Somebody please make a Season 2.
Such a bummer this show got canceled. Wish it would return, though without Michael C. Duncan, it wouldn’t have been the same. I enjoyed its connection with the show Bones..
