Rob Lowe and Fred Savage have each starred on very successful TV shows that have run for many years. They’ve also each been on series that have been cancelled. How will The Grinder do in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
The Grinder revolves around Hollywood star Dean Sanderson, Jr. (Rob Lowe) whose TV show was suddenly cancelled. He relocates to his old hometown and decides that, since he played a lawyer so successfully on television, practicing law at his family’s law firm can’t be all that different — much to the frustration of his hard-working attorney brother (Fred Savage). The series also stars William Devane, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Natalie Morales, Hana Hayes, and Connor Kalopsis.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: FOX has cancelled The Grinder after one season. Details here.
5/11 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Grinder TV show on FOX? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
We loved The Grinder! Why would they cancel such a well done show?
Please Netflix pick up the grinder. I was hooked after the 2nd episode. Everything needs a second seasoto catch the people who missed the brilliance of season one. We all need more laughter in our lives a specially the kind that reminds us how ridiculously serious we all seem to look in our own lives at times.
