Abigail Spencer has been cast as the female lead in the TV show pilot, Time. Spencer is in the cast of the Rectify TV series which has been cancelled by Sundance TV, although its fourth and final season will premiere in the fall of 2016.
NBC ordered this time-travel series pilot from The Shield‘s Shawn Ryan and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. Game of Thrones‘ Neil Marshall is already set to direct the sci-fi action-adventure project. Update: 5/13/2016: NBC ordered the show to series with a new title, Timeless.
TV Line says:
Time follows an unlikely trio who travel through (wait for it… ) time to battle a brilliant criminal intent on altering the fabric of human history with potentially catastrophic results.
Spencer, who is heading into the fourth and final season of Rectify, will play Lucy Preston, a brilliant, sharp and warm history professor who gets whisked away by the government for the aforementioned top-secret mission.
Do you like the sound of the Time TV show pilot? Which of Ryan and Kripke’s shows have you watched? If NBC orders the Time TV series, do you plan to check it out? Tell us.
Really hope TIME gets picked up as a series for NBC now that they cast Abigail Spencer.
I know, right, Tran? It looks really good, and it looks even better with Spencer.
Well, I really like Abigail Spencer. I first spied her on “The Glades” I think. She plays an excellent “Scotti” on Suits, and yes I’ll give her new show a look. My opinion, thanks …
