This evening marks the season finale of the Turn TV show on AMC. Will it also be the series finale as well? Will this drama get a chance to grow in season two or will it be cancelled after one short season?
Taking place during the American Revolutionary War, Turn follows a group of friends who become spies and help turn the tide of the war. The cast includes Amy Gumenick, Angus Macfadyen, Burn Gorman, Daniel Henshall, Heather Lind, JJ Feild, Jamie Bell, Kevin McNally, Meegan Warner, and Seth Numrich.
The show debuted on April 6th to 2.12 million viewers. In week two, the series dropped 12% to 1.87 million and week three dropped 25% to 1.40 million. Turn has been dropping nearly every week and has fallen to a low of just 1.08 million.
Will the show be cancelled? It’s difficult to predict what a cable channel like AMC will do because they have so few scripted series to compare. It’s certainly not positive that the ratings have dropped but they aren’t nearly as low as Low Winter Sun’s from last fall. Plus, last week’s debut of Halt and Catch Fire didn’t do much better with 1.19 million viewers.
AMC could go either way with this one but I suspect that it will be renewed for a second season. We’ll have to wait and see.
But, what do you think? Have you been watching? Should the Turn TV series be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Turn was a show that my husband and I looked forward to every week. We trust that this show be aired another season.
Return TURN!
I love this show. Please renew it. The acting is very good. I would pick up the action a bit. There has been very little seen on tv about this part of American history it would be a shame to not renew the show.
Please keep it !!! I have at least 25 friends who come over and watch it !!!
Please cancel, this show is so staggeringly slow and boring.
Rubicon was a far superior AMC show.
Please keep it!!!! I love this show!!!
Renew Turn. We want a season 2 and more. Give it a chance.
Please bring Turn back for season 2! We actually looked forward to TV on Sunday nights! Love the plot and the story line. Was very suspenseful and we found our selves being glued to the show! Actually put down the computer and turned off the phones! Can’t wait to see what happens to all of them this next season.
I looked forward to this intelligent, well acted show each and every week. The finale was so intriguing. I would love to see a second season.
Jamie Bell and the others were outstanding in their roles. Love the show.
This is a fascinating story, but I don’t think the show is doing it justice. And what has really been frustrating is how little really happens in each episode; almost like the producers are trying to stretch the story to last as long as possible. Sadly, this is happening at the expense of the viewing enjoyment of the audience. Hopefully they will “kick it up a notch” in season 2, if season 2 actually happens. I think most folks would agree that a four episode mini-series jam packed with action and clever plot twists would be better than two or… Read more »
Please, please, please bring back Turn for Season 2!! Great show!!
Please bring it back for season 2, we really enjoy this program
Excellent show! There should be a season 2. Why are they even thinking of cancelling a second season?!
Yes there should be a season 2!!!!! Great show ….!!
If anyone reads this, and wants AMC to bring Turn back for a second season, email them at : amccustomerservice@amcnetworks.com This excellent show deserves a second chance, maybe a better time slot…
Great idea — I just emailed them. Everyone who has posted here to renew TURN, please do the same!
I love historical programming. I dislike suspense. There is so much character development and historical implications that keep me riveted during Turn. I’m eager to see what the cause has in store, as well as the love story between Abe and Anna, especially in light of Mary’s power play in the finale. Please come back for season two.
