Unit Zero has landed its star. The new pilot has been picked up by ABC, and Toni Collette is set to star in the dramedy. The series is coming from Kenya Barris, the man behind ABC comedy, Black-ish. Lindsey Shockley is the supervising producer behind this hour-long series.
Deadline shared the following about the plot of the dramedy:
“The dramedy follows a brilliant, but unassuming CIA engineer and single mom, Jackie Fink (Collette), as she leads a team of CIA underlings who are thrust into the field as first time spies. Each week, this team of zeroes races against the clock to gather intelligence and solve cases of national security. And they succeed partly because no one in their right mind would ever suspect they were spies.”
Shockley said the following about her excitement for the new series:
“I’m so excited to be able to tell this story which is so personal to me. At its core, this show is about outsiders, those of us who don’t fit in. It celebrates everything that’s beautiful about being different.”
Will you check out Unit Zero if it is picked up by ABC? Tell us what you think.
This sounds and looks more interesting then Conviction coming this fall.
Is she and her team analysts or case officers? Interestingly enough, the CIA actually attempts to involve analysts in more field work and communicate better with the field agents on the ground. Can’t wait to watch it.
How many of these shows, CIA drama do we need on T.V.
Yes. It sounds interesting and fun!!
