Is there still a future for Wayward Pines? Recently, author Blake Crouch revealed there’s still a chance for a third season of the FOX TV show.
Based on Crouch’s novels, the sci-fi thriller follows the residents of the mysterious town of Wayward Pines. The cast includes Djimon Hounsou, Nimrat Kaur, Josh Helman, Kacey Rohl, Tom Stevens, Hope Davis, Shannyn Sossamon, Carla Gugino, and Toby Jones.
Earlier this year, FOX chairman Gary Newman said Wayward Pines was not cancelled but there will be no new season this summer. Now, Crouch has echoed Newman’s statements on Reddit, saying he hopes there will be a third season:

These networks are a pain in the a%$! How hard is it to determine that Wayward Pines is a cool show and well liked? Get going and film the third season!!!! You don’t have a huge selection of good shows for the summer so dragging your feet is just plain stupid!
I would love a Season 3
I too really liked the show, but where is the DVD for season 2? I have season 1 and it might feel more complete if I had season 2 even if they don’t continue the series.
Fox, please wrap up the story with a 3rd season. It is a great show.

I’m definitely looking forward to more. IT was my favorite summer series, pretty much the only one I followed steadily since Under the Dome ended. There’s so much more that can be done with it. I was in fact looking for it at the beginning of the year and was quite disappointed that it was not on this summer’s schedule. Anyway, as long as it comes back next summer, because otherwise, when a series takes too long to continue, it kind of loses momentum…
