Longmire: Season Three Ratings

Longmire TV show on A & E ratingsBased on the “Walt Longmire” mystery novels by Craig Johnson, Longmire has been a very successful TV series for A&E in the ratings. Will that trend continue? Will the show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned!

Longmire follows the life of a Wyoming county sheriff who’s returned to work following his wife’s demise. With the support of his family and co-workers, he solves cases and works to stay in office. The cast includes Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

8/28 update: Longmire has been cancelled by A&E after three seasons. However…

11/19 update: Netflix has picked up the series for a fourth season.

Final season averages: 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.52 million total viewers.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparisons: The second season of Longmire attracted a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.7 million total viewers.

Note: These are the final national numbers and are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you like the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?

Just goes to show ya, tv people think that human imagination coupled with no sex, bad language, & nudity just don’t mix. It’s more suspenseful this way. Now I’m no prude, but I’m not in need of the lack of family values and am in interested in a program with a true moral compass. A & E should find theirs and bring back Longmire.

The network has lost their minds, not renewing a successful series? Really? Best to remember that we boomers still have our clout!
Huge mistake, huge…

Can’t believe that A&E canceled Longmire (Season 4)! I have other people watching the first 2 seasons on Netflix and they love it! Why can they not see that shows need to build their audience! I am disappointed!

One of my favorite shows….Blue Bloods being top favorite….hate “reality shows,” don’t/won’t watch them. Longmire is proof that good and interesting TV Shows can be make….most networks only interested in CHEAP to make, i.e., “reality.”

PLEASE DO NOT cancel Longmire; it is one of the best programs on T.V. It seems as if a program is decent, not showing nudity or suggestive comments, it is cancelled. Why???? Can’t we, who enjoy a wholesome program, have something we enjoy? Congrats to Robert Taylor and all the cast for giving us three seasons of great T.V.

Definitely it should be renewed. The characters are interesting and the storylines have so many directions they can go that it would be totally ignorant to discontinue a series with such a loyal following. I am still unhappy with A and E for how they ended the series Everglades. I think the programmers at A and E should be more in tune with their viewers. I look for this network to be more creative and daring with what they produce. They let me down badly with the Longmire decision. I think they are over populating their network with reality series.

We dumped TV 4 years ago because of idiotic “reality” TV, now we watch what we want with Netflix, LOVE Longmire ! Dislike A & E and other ‘s for stupid commercials and for not caring about good TV.
