The executive producer of ABC Family’s 10 Things I Hate About You has confirmed that the TV show has been cancelled after two seasons. How quickly things can change.
Based on the film of the same name that starred Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Heath Ledger, 10 Things I Hate About You revolves around two very different high school sisters and their friends and partners. The series features the talents of Lindsey Shaw, Meaghan Jette Martin, Ethan Peck, Nicholas Braun, Dana Davis, Larry Miller, Kyle Kaplan, Ally Maki, Chris Zylka, Jolene Purdy, Allie Gonino, and Suzy Nakamura.
The series got off to a great start in July 2009 and ABC Family touted it as the cable channel’s biggest comedy debut to date. It attracted 1.6 million viewers and 734,000 in the coveted 18-49 demo. The news got even better by week four as the show’s ratings grew to 1.8 million viewers and 782,000 in the demo. Season one ended up averaging 1.3 million viewers.
To no surprise, ABC Family renewed the series for a second season of another 10 episodes.

Unfortunately, something happened between seasons one and two. When the 10 Things returned in late March, a lot of the show’s viewers didn’t. Thus far, it’s been averaging just 983,000 viewers. That’s enough for ABC Family to pull the plug, just 10 months after the show’s highly touted debut.
The show’s creator and executive producer, Carter Covington, announced the show’s fate on Twitter: “Sad news… ABCFamily canceled the show 🙁 Thanks 2 our AMAZING fans – U R the reason I do this! Enjoy the last 5 eps – they’re fantastic!”
The remaining five episodes of 10 Things will continue to roll out until May 31st. Since the cancellation comes as a surprise, there’s no word if the series finale will include closure or if storylines will be left unresolved.

Noo! Please revive the show! Maybe the ratings were down due to the time slot it was in. First season was Tuesdays at 8pm (which was great starting off) and then for second season it was switched to Mondays at 8pm (same as Dancing with the Stars) So please reconsider the time and bring back the show. Or at least produce a book with the continuing storyline, I would love to know what happens next.

Please don’t cancel! Bring 10 things back! I’m a huge fan and so is my best friend. We would be at work at the time of the show so we always tivo-ed the episodes so we wouldn’t miss what happened. Maybe that’s why our ratings didn’t count. Please please bring it back! Even if not with ABC Family, maybe another network just bring it back.

WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS! this show was amazing! it dealt with real life situations and it was so cute! it was the perfect blend of modern and wholesome. I just cant believe this is happening. it is so crazy!
if ABC seriously cancels 10 Things simply because ratings this season where down, then ABC should’ve thought more about what time they wanted to show it on tv, knowing full well that the majority of the fans who love this show (me especially) maybe had a hard time trying to watch it seeing how it was on during a school night. Had the show been on a friday, the ratings would have been no problem.
i cant lie i never watched ABC-family until Greek then i watched Secret life and now my other fav 10 things is about to be gone.This is a FAMILY show that belongs on a FAMILY network which is abc FAMILY right??????
I thing the problem was … ABC left the show in suspend during six month so of course when the show came back nobody was there anymore. I know, ABC left 6 month to see if the rated was good but they shouldn’t have waited 6 month to air the 2 season.
So it’s a great great show and the final end on a cliffhanger so I’m hoping ABC will do a 3 season with more promotion and less waiting. But I thing they won’t because of the rating. So maybe a movie to end the serie?

They cancel this but keep that bring it on wannabe Make it or break it i just dont get it.maybe they waited too long to produce this show like 10 years after the movie.i will miss the cast especially the cute head cheerleader who was on heroes for a season
No. This is my favorite show! They can’t just cancel it! It was getting so good too. They should at least do one more season so they don’t leave it so on the edge!
I love this show sooo much! It seriously was abcfamily’s best in my opinion. It more realistic than Secret Life and Make It or Break It. In Secret Life the same thing happens like all the time, sex. And Make It or Break It is just competitive gymnastics.

I am angry that they cancelled the show, whenmany other stupid non sense shows have like 4984798 seasons…they should at least continue the series in a different chanel, because the show had great characters, and the actors that played them did incredibly well, and i am sad to know that it will never come back to a 3rd season…i hated the “FINALE”, because it wasnt much of a finale…please bring back this show, and as a film student i think this show had hecka potential…

What happened when the **** girl on the poser kissed joey? Will chastity actually go to another school? Will dawn and cameron still be together or does he still have feelings for bianca? I hate how they are canceling the show!!!!!!!!! This was one of the best shows and I hate how they ended it like that. I want to know about Joey and Bianca and Kat and Patrick. This was probably one of my favorite shows. Please bring the show back ABC!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now I hate you guys for canceling the show but if you bring it back I’ll love you guys
