The executive producer of ABC Family’s 10 Things I Hate About You has confirmed that the TV show has been cancelled after two seasons. How quickly things can change.
Based on the film of the same name that starred Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Heath Ledger, 10 Things I Hate About You revolves around two very different high school sisters and their friends and partners. The series features the talents of Lindsey Shaw, Meaghan Jette Martin, Ethan Peck, Nicholas Braun, Dana Davis, Larry Miller, Kyle Kaplan, Ally Maki, Chris Zylka, Jolene Purdy, Allie Gonino, and Suzy Nakamura.
The series got off to a great start in July 2009 and ABC Family touted it as the cable channel’s biggest comedy debut to date. It attracted 1.6 million viewers and 734,000 in the coveted 18-49 demo. The news got even better by week four as the show’s ratings grew to 1.8 million viewers and 782,000 in the demo. Season one ended up averaging 1.3 million viewers.
To no surprise, ABC Family renewed the series for a second season of another 10 episodes.

Unfortunately, something happened between seasons one and two. When the 10 Things returned in late March, a lot of the show’s viewers didn’t. Thus far, it’s been averaging just 983,000 viewers. That’s enough for ABC Family to pull the plug, just 10 months after the show’s highly touted debut.
The show’s creator and executive producer, Carter Covington, announced the show’s fate on Twitter: “Sad news… ABCFamily canceled the show 🙁 Thanks 2 our AMAZING fans – U R the reason I do this! Enjoy the last 5 eps – they’re fantastic!”
The remaining five episodes of 10 Things will continue to roll out until May 31st. Since the cancellation comes as a surprise, there’s no word if the series finale will include closure or if storylines will be left unresolved.

abcfamily should of kept doing the show, it was so good, i love it, it was so exciting to watch a new episode, i know it might not of made a lot of money..well whatever the business terms are but it rocked at least finish it out …dont leave us on a cliffhanger… :):(
10 things i hate about you was my favorite show on abc it should definetely come back it was a great show and lots of people watched it.
omg i still cant belive iot was cancelled no one will every know how it ends they should mack a film to tell evryone what happen in season 3 kinda like what sex in the city done i really got in to this show i cant belife it over and on a clifhanger i hope the producer read this and lsten beacause i NEED TO KNOW thank for reading xx

I cant believe this. I mean come on 10 things is far much funnier and better than melissa and joey and they are bringing that show back on!! I hate the fact that we dont get any closure after everything that happened!! SO NOW BE SMART ABOUT IT AND BRING 10 THING BACK ON!

I’m so mad at abc family ! I just can’t get it ! Why didn’t they wait just a few months (at least 3) to see if the viewers would come back for season 2 ??! Maybe they just hadn’t heard about the second season yet ! As they stoped airing it and waited a couple of months to air the 2nd seas., people just (which is normal) disconnected ! :-/

No, they shouldn’t have cancelled 10 Things I Hate About You. It was the only damn show with a real-life happening that actually made TV fun to watch. ABC Family is really bad about pulling good shows and leaving crap shows on the air. Try to make the viewers happy, ABC Family!
Yea it was season 2 they left as the cliffhanger! I’m soooooo angry with ABC Family they never keep the good shows on I’m so sick of watching the shows Bc they always get cancelled…what’s next, Pretty Little Liars?
