It’s been a rocky road for NBC’s 100 Questions and now the journey is over. The sitcom has been cancelled after one season and six episodes.
100 Questions follows Charlotte Payne (Sophie Winkleman), a young woman who’s looking for love. She goes to a dating service and answers 100 questions as posed by a frustrated consultant named Andrew (Michael Benjamin Washington). While trying to figure out what she’s looking for in a mate, she recounts relationship stories that include friends Leslie (Smith Cho), Jill (Collette Wolfe), Mike (Christopher Moynihan), and Wayne (David Walton).
Originally titled 100 Questions for Charlotte Payne, the pilot was directed by Emmy Award-winning director James Burrows. NBC ordered it to series but then recast several characters and director Alex Hardcastle took over. After six installments were produced, the network cut the episode order and shut down production. Then, the show’s premiere was delayed until May 27th. Clearly, the network’s enthusiasm had waned a bit.
When 100 Questions finally did debut, most viewers didn’t notice. The show’s premiere episode attracted horrible numbers — just a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.48 million viewers. The numbers got even worse as the weeks progressed. The network kept the show on the schedule and let all six episodes air. There won’t be any more though.
To no surprise, 100 Questions has been cancelled and won’t be back for a second season, as reported by both Futon Critic and MediaWeek.
Though NBC declined to comment, Moynihan, the show’s creator and a co-star, has already moved on. He recently signed a deal to write and executive produce two new projects for ABC Studios. He’s also expected to have a part in front of the camera as well.
What do you think? Are you sorry that 100 Questions won’t be back? How would you have wrapped up Charlotte’s quest? Why do you think the series didn’t succeed?

That’s so sad! I’m totally hooked on this show because David Walton’s such a hottie. I hope he’s in something new soon before Hulu pulls the “Wayne” episode of the site. Haha.
ok this show was okay. but to say it is even half as funny as community or parks a rec is just silly. P & R is very similar to the office bcoz the production company is the same deddle dee studios. as for community the chemistry for the cast is amazing. i agree this show never had a chance but were talking about a show that was doomed any way bcoz its a summer season show. none of the new shows this summer will survive guarantee. and do u think it would survive along side 30 rock and the… Read more »
I Don’t ACCEPT any excuse .NO I Do not . I have watched tv shows all my life and 100 questions is a sweet pleasure .WANT it back.! NOW!
Y DID THEY STOP THIS SHOW IT WAS SO COOL IT WAS FUNNY, ROMANTIC , AWESOME, AND APPEALING IF NBC GAVE IT A CHANCE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY GOOD BUT THEY HAD TO STOP IT SYUPID NBC
i really loved this program its a shame they cancelled it
I am really gutted that they stopped this show me,my family, and my friends all really enjoyed this program and out of the blue they cancell the program. WHATS UP WITH THAT? I think if they let it go for a little bit longer viewers would have picked up immensly, but no stupid NBC cancelled the program, they could have at least finished the season.
IT WAS A GOOD SHOW! I have no idea why it was cancelled!
Sorry, I should mentioned that in speaking of Amy Poehler I was referring to her show Parks and Recreation.
Both NBC and ABC have no balls at all when it comes to keeping shows alive that are really worthwhile. 100 Questions never had a chance as it had as lead in Community. Your executives are all hung up on big names regardless the story line or the ensemble. Unlike Community, 100 Questions had really good chemistry in the cast and the dialogue was alive and really funny. Much as I love Amy Poehler, her show cannot even come into the shadow of 100 Questions. Her shows is a straight take-off on the Office, nothing more and nothing less, whereas… Read more »
This show, although I enjoyed it, was a reverse of How I Met Your Mother.
I really enjoyed the show. Obviously, NBC didn’t have any faith in the show. They threw it in out of nowhere, sandwiched in between re-runs. Never saw one commercial on the show. The only reason I ever even found out about it was by seeing it On Demand after the second episode was already out.
This stinks! I really enjoyed 100 questions. It’s like the kiss of death – everytime I like a new show, it gets cancelled. I’m starting to get self conscious that I have bad taste in t.v. shows.
I really like this show.It something I can find myself watching for a long time.It reminds me of friends and there hasn’t been a show that I have felt like that for a long time. Please reconsider NBC.The only fault that this show had it lack of advertisement.Put some thought of how to get it out there and the viewers will come.
I really liked it. It reminded me somewhat of Friends, and I thought that with a little more character development, it really would have been a great show.
