Though AMC has had some popular scripted series that have run for years, many others have been cancelled after just one season. How is the current crop of shows doing? Which will be cancelled or renewed? We’ll have to wait and see.
Scripted AMC Network shows listed: 61st Street, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, The Beast Must Die, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Dark Winds, Dietland, A Discovery of Witches, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Fear the Walking Dead, Feed the Beast, Halt and Catch Fire, Hell on Wheels, Humans, Into the Badlands, Kevin Can F**k Himself, Killing Eve, Lodge 49, Low Winter Sun, Lucky Hank, Mad Men, McMafia, The Night Manager, NOS4A2, Parish, Preacher, The Son, Soulmates, Tales of the Walking Dead, The Terror, Turn: Washington’s Spies, The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
Last update: Most recent ratings added for Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire.
There’s lots of data that AMC execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
i watch TWD 3 times on sundays and talking dead twice on sun., so it gets at least 25 million views on sun. and your ratings are only four the 1 episode. so put up your real ratings.
Fear the walkin dead is a great show. what in the hell are you people doing. 6 episodes its the one show thats not being over run by gay scenes .its refreshing and the closest thing to a normal show .i happen to love this show.i look forward to it every week.i have not watch eney. i mean eney tv shows until f.w.d came along.i am utterly disgusted by what television has become. Like children don’t watch television eney moor. Actors are not allowed to curse on tv for decades but now its ok to watch 2 men make out… Read more »
I know… the world is a terrible place.
Did you know that there are bigots all over the internet who can’t even spell?
LOL
Yeah, I don’t understand how you can make an entire argument generalizing kids to not watching tv because 1 out of 50 shows have lgbt person/couple? Do you not see same sex couples in your real life? There are like a handful of shows that have same sex coupling and those shows broadcast about 2 minutes with that couple and the rest is reserved for raunchie regular old sex, drugs, and murder. Guess that’s what we want our kids watching. Not 2 men/women sharing a quick kiss or saying I love you…eek
Can you be more bigoted? News flash, there are gay people in the world. You get mad about them portraying real life? I am pretty sure even bigots like you were given the ability to change the channel if you do not like something. My wife and I do not allow our kids to watch adult shows. Maybe you should stop complaint about your kids watching a show that ( perish the thought) has gay people. I would bet anything that you are a bigot that quotes one passage in the bible to justify your hatred. Read the next verse… Read more »
Please save Halt and Catch Fire. The ratings may not be there, but the show is starting to come into its own. The characters are being realized, and the story line is amazing!
ONE MORE SEASON!
AMC needs to renew Halt and Catch Fire for Season 3. Compared to a show like Fear the Walking Dead which is absolutely horrible and a huge let down, Halt and Catch Fire should easily get renewed. It really is a good series.
they need to put more stuff on the channel it hardly seem worth it we get amc channel here but i think there should be stuff running all day.
Please save Halt and Catch Fire …it’s just getting its legs after an iffy first season trying to find its direction. I think the lower numbers for S2 reflect the fallout from those losing interest while HACF was trying to find itself over the course of S1. Those of us who hung in there were rewarded and the word will spread.
Halt and Catch Fire is an amazing series. Let’s have a third season.
Halt And catch Fire is the best thing on TV….It needs at least one more year to catch on…
It’s not handled properly, people don’t even know it exists…Once they see it, they get hooked….
I have just recently come across HACF on Amazon Prime in the UK and both myself and my husband love the show. The stories are engaging and we love the characters. Lee Pace as Joe is tremendous. I really hope AMC renew for a 3rd season because this is a very special show.
I am praying that Halt and Catch Fire gets renewed for Season 3. The show is great for any ages, for both those of us who lived through the period, and those who look at it as “history.” AMC has done NOTHING to market this show. They do this over and over again with each series. Market your stuff and keep the good shows! Please renew this!
I will be praying with you too. It is a GREAT show!!
Why is “Mad Men” not in the past shows section? It ended..
That section is reserved for older shows. Mad Men ended recently so its numbers are still relevant for comparing with current shows.
I THINK Halt and Catch Fire is a great show. Before I believe the number of people who watched the program. I would like to know how many people dvred it and watched it later, how many people watched on demand, and how many people watched it online. These are important numbers and may exceed the number who watched it live.
The notes say these number are live viewers plus anybody who watched it via another format the same day i.e streaming, dvr etc.
Agree, I like Saul but Halt is better. Acting is great and I’m genuinely curious to see where they’re going.
My husband and i love this show.. There are not enough new westerns on tv. I did miss not seeing the other characters but know they will be back . At first iwe did feel like we missed a show because of the way it stated but soon got into it. Will be greatly disappointed if it’s canceled.
Halt and Catch Fire is one of the best shows on TV. I lived it, breathed it, was there when the computer age began…it’s troubling that viewers don;t want to know how this technology all began. There are two episodes left and my fingers are crossed it’ll be renewed. But as i look at those ratings I don;t suppose it has a chance. So disheartening and FRUSTRATING!
It’s strange to find MR. ROBOT getting much better ratings than Halt And Catch Fire. I find MR Robot exaggerated and made up of a lot of ********. While Halt and Catch fire gives out a great story of an interesting topic. For me Halt and Catch Fire is like Friday night Lights you don’t have too love football to love the show. I guess people don’t like reality.
