Though AMC has had some popular scripted series that have run for years, many others have been cancelled after just one season. How is the current crop of shows doing? Which will be cancelled or renewed? We’ll have to wait and see.
Scripted AMC Network shows listed: 61st Street, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, The Beast Must Die, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Dark Winds, Dietland, A Discovery of Witches, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Fear the Walking Dead, Feed the Beast, Halt and Catch Fire, Hell on Wheels, Humans, Into the Badlands, Kevin Can F**k Himself, Killing Eve, Lodge 49, Low Winter Sun, Lucky Hank, Mad Men, McMafia, The Night Manager, NOS4A2, Parish, Preacher, The Son, Soulmates, Tales of the Walking Dead, The Terror, Turn: Washington’s Spies, The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
Last update: Most recent ratings added for Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire.
There’s lots of data that AMC execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
Love Turn best show on TV, please renew for season 4.
Please renew Turn for a 4th season. I think it is one of the best shows on TV.
TURN is one of my all-time favorite TV shows! Please renew this for Season 4. I would be extremely disappointed if this show was canceled before the story is fully told.
PLEASE renew TURN for season 4! I am amazed at how many people I know that absolutely LOVE this show!!! I’m always curious about how viewer numbers are identified.?. I just found out about it at the beginning of season 3 and binge watched to get caught up. Everyone I have encouraged to watch has been immediately hooked! Waiting on pins and needles!!! Please don’t cancel!!!
Please renew Turn. I just finished binge watching all three seasons on a long round trip flight. This is one of the best shows on television.
I finally started watching Turn a few months ago when it was featured on a Netflix page. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I binged it. This show needs to be renewed. I think Netflix will help generate a larger audience for this show!
Count me in for more! There’s such a feeling of helplessness over whether a show you like is returning or not. A show that is unique. I mean, where else could one go for anything similar? I ask you. I’ve never understood why more people aren’t interested in this historical period. I want to shout like John Adams, “Doesn’t anybody see…what I see?”
TURN is the greatest series I have ever watched. Before TURN, there was only ONE show I watched and therefore considered it my favorite show (Seinfeld). As a movie buff, I now know what it’s like to love a series more than anything. It needs to return!! It is the single best series that has ever existed. I’d do anything for it to return!
Hey AMC. If networks are all about money then turn should be renewed. Want to know why? I can’t find a copy of the original series or any follow-up season for less than $15 and often it’s sold out. What does that tell you? you should run it for five seasons and wrap it up. Watch the magic unfurl as it’s eventually binge-watched by everyone. And here’s a little tip. Binge watching this series with the subtitles on it’s a lot more fun and makes the show a lot more understandable. Love it!
TURN NEEDS TO RETURN, !
I am completely addicted to the show TURN. AMC really outdid themselves on this show. Amazing actors, beautifully scripted and all about the history of this nation. And yes, Annlett (and the fact that I’m a history nerd) drew me in completely. Love it!!! Please give it another season, heck, go ahead and give us Season 5 while your at it. Please!!!!
Please, PLEASE, renew Turn! It is beautifully scripted and acted. It’s our nation’s history come to life. It’s so unique to find an intelligent, gripping show to watch. I tell everyone I know to watch this show. Please renew!
Why Turn should continuously be renewed. Let it fulfill the outcome of the actual War. It’s always I’m unavailable on DVD. It’s always in high demand on Blu-ray. Trust me I’ve tried Amazon and many other avenues. There’s an audience out there. if an idiotic show like Fear The Walking Dead can be renewed then turn deserves another term
It took me a while to find TURN. Actually, someone on a FB post recommended it. I think I watched it for just a bit, and it grew on me…so much so, that I bought Alexander Rose’s book Washington Spies. You do have to give this series your undivided attention, which is why I love it. I try to tell everyone I know to watch TURN. I love history anyway, but I didn’t know how much. TURN is quality TV AMC should be proud of. Kudos to everyone involved!
Season 3 of Turn may have started on a low note but it ended very well! I liked the subtle hints as they set up for the Culper Ring debunking a British attack on the French when they first land in Rhode Island. I hope season 4 happens, and brings a more historically accurate James Rivington and WAY LESS Simcoe!!! It’s a great show that deserves more attention, and I think it will definitely attract a greater audience with a new season considering the attention other ceratin Revolutionary War pop culture pieces has been receiving…
