Kate Walsh had a long run playing Addison Montgomery, first on Grey’s Anatomy and then on Private Practice. Will her Bad Judge TV show last as long on NBC or will it be cancelled after one short season? Stay tuned.
Bad Judge follows Rebecca Wright (Walsh), an unorthodox judge of the Los Angeles County Circuit Court. She’s tough-as-nails and one of LA’s most respected criminal court judges but has a truly wild lifestyle in her off hours. The rest of the cast includes Tone Bell, Ryan Hansen, John Ducey, and Miguel Sandoval.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
10/31 update: NBC has decided to cancel Bad Judge after 13 episodes. Details here.
Final season averages: 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.81 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like Bad Judge TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
My family loves this show. We would love to see another season. Do not cancel it please and thanks
Bad Judge is the only sitcom on TV this season that actually makes me laugh out loud. It’s ratings are no worse than those of The Biggest Loser, which it follows. It retained 100% of TBL’s demo rating last night, and its ratings have inched up three weeks in a row. NBC was WRONG on this one! I wrote to the network and told them so. It won’t help, but I feel better. :^)
Bring it back…..love Judge Wright
Bad judge is great and NBC is stupid to cancel it. I sure do.hope that another network picks it up. Kate Walsh is great and deserves this#
Please say it ‘ ain’t so’. I absolutely live this great comedy. How about giving it a chance NOT opposite Scandal?? Really like Kate’s character ‘Tedword’ isn’t the usual ‘smarter than the main character’ . Love their relationship. If NBC reads these please give Bad Judge a chance in a different time slot. Thanks
Love it. It’s very funny. Good cast. Do not take off air!
I love Bad Judge. I watch over the air tv and there are not a whole lot of good comedy shows to watch. This is a great show as far as I’m concerned. I think if you switch to a different night or time (not up against Scandal – I don’t like this one but there is a big following for it) like maybe Saturday night when we’re watching repeats of shows that have already aired during the week. Why not? I think Kate Walsh and all the other good actors on this show are getting a bad rap –… Read more »
I’m a woman in a professional career and I Love Bad Judge! Rebecca is a fun character. She’s a smart (top of her class) and powerful woman who doesn’t let society’s idea of what a judge SHOULD be keep her from being herself. I like that in a person. She also has a strong sense of justice that you get to see in the courtroom scenes. And yes… the character is over-the-top, but it’s comedy… Characters are supposed to be over-the-top. I’ll never understand why a show like The Millers is a hit and Bad Judge is not. I guess… Read more »
Mish-El I couldn’t agree with you more. I too am a professional , college educated woman. Guess Bad Judge is my ‘guilty pleasure’. I really enjoyed this weeks episode where she questioned why she got the promotion to a judge & then the answer by her boss. They have ‘ tamed’ the show a bit & that’s OK if it increases the viewership. I don’t want this show cancelled. BTW this is the first show with Kate Walsh I have watched, I like her acting.
Smallville
Just watched it. Guess I’m in the minority here but I enjoyed it. Maybe because I need a break from all the ‘intense’ programs I otherwise watch…. Law & Order, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder, Blacklist, The First 48 etc. etc. Again the ratings might go up should they move it from opposite Scandal. The premise is ridiculous but aren’t many comedies with quirky or outlandish characters. Maybe more time should be in the court room giving out sentences we wish actual judges would. Hope they at least give it a good run & a time slot change.… Read more »
I agree without Elaine – I enjoyed the show too. It made me laugh and I especially liked the relationship between the judge and bailiff , and I think Kate Walsh is actually a good comedic actress. Yes, I do think it’s like a lot of sitcoms and it takes a few episodes to really start developing the characters and making them more interesting. I wish the network had given it a bit longer. 🙁
We hated it. It IS just as lousy a show as BAD TEACHER was. Yikes, Kate, what were you thinking when you agreed to degrade yourself, and women in general, like this? They can cancel this one now.
they obviously learned NOTHING from Bad Teacher on CBS. It’s a similarly bad concept and failing just as bad on delivery. Hence, the bad ratings
I DVR’d it and haven’t had time to watch it as yet. I loved the promo’s . What will hurt it is that it is opposite Scandal which I was watching. I hope it is better than Bad Teacher I watched only two of those , yuk!
This is so BAD, Kate Walsh is Great actress, eating time on this show. The writing is beneath her. A little too rough for a judge. They showed too much too fast.. woman aren’t going to relate poor like her. It’s not going to make it. KATE FIND SOMETHING ELSE!
I think that another big turn off for women is the basic double standard. If a male judge seemed to be a hard partying possible alcoholic who seemed completely unqualified for the job in real life does anyone believe he’d continue to be a judge. Yet because shes a woman who isn’t afraid to use sex appeal she’s basically tolerated more than a man would be? Ya right… What these writers should do is sit down with a season or two of Night Court. That was about a judge who was a bit eccentric. but still came across as a… Read more »
Night Court! When comedies were funny instead of stupid
I just watched this. It’s amuzing, but I doubt it’ll last. No soap potential for a judge who seems more suited for being a hooker so the women will shun it. Everyone will quickly get bored because it’s just too implausible, and the writing just isn’t all that funny. Someone compared it to Bad Teacher, but I think that concept you could see as outlandish, but at least plausable. An outward ****** judge……I don’t think so
