POW! The classic caped crusader (Adam West) and the boy wonder (Burt Ward) are finally coming to DVD. After years of hold-ups, it looks like the live-action Batman TV show will finally be available this year.
Earlier today, Conan O’Brien tweeted a photo and the news, “Very excited @WBHomeEnt is releasing the Batman ‘66 Complete TV Series in 2014! The seat smells like Adam West: http://t.co/cqWjlpW1Gn”
Warner Home Video has confirmed the Batman series is coming to DVD and will be releasing additional details soon.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to this release? Will you purchase the three seasons?
Grandizer- really? a deal breaker? lame. you have any idea all the hoops this series has had to jump through to get this on dvd? this acutally being released is ‘extra’ enough- that being said, i’m sure there will be plenty of bonus materials on the collection
Not lame at all, I lived through and watched all of these episodes, I would not buy something that I have already seen if there are no bonus features. For the first time viewer, have at them. for those of use that have watched them time and time and time again, I do not need a collection of things I have already seen more then 3-5 times. I admit, maybe there is an episode or two that I have only seen 2-3 times, but even then, I have seen them all.
I will only get this if there are extras on the Dvd’s.
I know there won’t be widescreen, but not having any extras is a deal breaker.
I seem to recall hearing that Adam West recorded some commentary tracks a few years back because he wasn’t sure what shape his memory would be in by the time the studios worked out a deal to release the series.
And that would make it worth buying. Extras. Bonuses, Huzzah!
