It appears that Battle Creek has lost the ratings war. The low-rated Sunday night police series has been cancelled by CBS.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The show debuted on March 1st to a disappointing 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.92 million viewers. The numbers got even worse in later weeks and has fallen to lows of a 0.7 demo rating and fewer than six million viewers.
Those numbers aren’t good enough for CBS to order a second season so they’ve now cancelled it.
There are four unaired episodes remaining and the last installment is currently scheduled to air on May 24th.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for season two?
This show deserves another year
Pretty good show, deserves another year
Battle Creek was one of the few good show on TV. I am so sad to hear it as cancelled. Hopefully it will get picked up by another channel.
I can’t believe they’re cancelling this show! This one was an intelligent police show that we looked forward to watching every Sunday. I wish some cable station would pick it up!
Love the show. I messaged CBS. I don’t imagine it will help the show, but maybe if enough people do it I could be proven wrong. Mostly it just feels good to give your opinion, whether they get it or not.
It’s always a shame when a great show is aired in the spring and heading into summer months. Both my husband and myself loved this show.
Sorry to see the show cancelled – I agree with Ron & Bill
It was enjoyable & should have been given more time.
There are so many shows now that are just a waste of time to watch
Loved this show! Good grief, with so many bad shows out there…You cancel one that makes me smile on a Sunday night and getting ready for Monday work.
I was saddened to hear this show has been cancelled. It is different and is the kind of show that requires some time for viewers to get used to it and begin to “get it” and once that happens it grow on viewers and get higher ratings I believe.
Cancelling so soon doesnt give it a chance. I strongly request it be given another season or half a season and then evaluate–maybe promote it.
Too good to drop so soon.
We loved this show! Why is it being cancelled?!
Really? Smart doesn’t sell obviously and stupid, insipid, dumb is what the the viewing public thrives on. The rest of us just have to not watch stupid and what is left, well, that is limited.
OK, I’VE READ A LOT OF THE COMMENTS PEOPLE HAVE POSTED. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR VIEWER’S. FOR THE PAST YEAR CBS IS WATCHED LESS & LESS EACH MONTH.
Without Battle Creek there isn’t anything on CBS THAT I WATCH, NOTHING. MATTER OF FACT THERE’S NOTHING ON CBS THAT I DO WATCH IN A WEEKS TIME. CBS SUCKS BECAUSE THEY DON’T LISTEN TO THEIR VIEWER’S. I MEAN COME ON WHAT KIND OF VIEWERS ARE THEY LISTENING TO?
Can’t believe they canceled it. it was getting good. They need to put the last 4 shows out so we can see them.
Really sad when a nasty, almost x-rated show Broke Girl got a renewal.
