It appears that Battle Creek has lost the ratings war. The low-rated Sunday night police series has been cancelled by CBS.
Battle Creek revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers — Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) and FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) — who have polar opposite views of the world and end up being partners. The rest of the cast includes Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Aubrey Dollar, and Edward Fordham Jr.
The show debuted on March 1st to a disappointing 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.92 million viewers. The numbers got even worse in later weeks and has fallen to lows of a 0.7 demo rating and fewer than six million viewers.
Those numbers aren’t good enough for CBS to order a second season so they’ve now cancelled it.
There are four unaired episodes remaining and the last installment is currently scheduled to air on May 24th.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for season two?
Battle Creek was one of the best shows on television in a very long time. They took time to develop the characters. You got to know them and really started to like them. Why do you keep such brainless, predictable shows like Scorpion on and kick to the curb a thought provoking show like Battle Creek.
Give this show a second chance. There have been many shows that have started off slowly and became legendary successes. Please reconsider this show for a second season, you will not be disappointed.
I just found it & I love it! I’m so disappointed that it’s not coming back. They should try again. Is there anywhere I can watch this season without having to pay?
Battle Creek needs to renewed!!!
My wife and I lovrd the show!
Why do you people always take off the most entertaining shows and replace them with a trashy reality show or a asinine sitcom. Battle Creek was a truly fun show with just enough action to keep it moving. . Another mistake by idiots that think only 25-45;s matter.
I thought the program was great and hate that it was cancelled.
Battle Creek is an excellent show. It should not be cancelled. We love it here in Canada. It reminds me of Due South – another great series.
6 million viewers not enough…well this 1 of the 6 million viewers LOVED THIS SHOW. I am so disappointed!
Move it to another night and RENEW it
Did not like the actors at first. After the 3rd episodes fell in love with the show need 2nd season
I am so disappointed that this show was cancelled. I appreciated its nuance, its subtle humor, and its failure to resort to in-your-face, dumbed-down content. I would so like to see this show further unfold!
I love this show. It’s smart, funny, and well-acted.
They should move it to where “Characters Are Welcome”(USA Network) and maybe advertise it? Very well written and funny. Great characters!
Good idea!
Dear CBS,
I’m from Indonesia and I will really be happy if I can watch Battle Creek Season 2. Yes, it took me several episodes before I like it, but I’m really sad to learn that there would no season 2.
I hope you reconsider your decision.
Thank you.
Rizka.
Hello CBS, I watch television episodes through Netflix, Hulu+, and Amazon. I do not have cable, and I have no plans to ever go back to cable, Dish, Directv, (etc.). I watch local channels through an antenna receiver. However, the CBS signal is rarely be picked up; therefore, I would try and watch Madam Secretary online at CBS.com but that didn’t work well either. I came across an episode of Battle Creek some weeks back on Hulu Plus and really enjoyed the episode but I wanted to watch the show from the beginning which was not available on Hulu Plus,… Read more »
