With a great lead-in, Beauty and the Beast has the best chance of any new CW show this season of getting solid ratings. Will it survive or, like last year’s Secret Circle, or will it be cancelled?
Following a young beautiful homicide detective and her handsome-yet-scarred protector, Beauty and the Beast typically airs Thursday nights on The CW network. The cast includes Kristin Kreuk, Jay Ryan, Nina Lisandrello, Brian White, Max Brown, Nicole Gale Anderson, and Austin Basis.

Year-to-year, compared to The Secret Circle’s premiere in the same post-Vampire Diaries timeslot, the network was down by 8% in the demo (vs a 1.3 rating) and down 8% in viewership (vs 3.05 million). While these numbers were still very good, Beauty and the Beast won’t survive if its numbers fall like Secret Circle’s did.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

I love it don’t cancel
Love the show keep it, give it time
I was a huge fan of the original Beauty & the Beast series and followed it until the very end and I was a little doubtful about the new series. However, I watched the first episode and i knew i would be completely hooked. I look forward to Thursady nights as much as i do wed. for Supernatural. I really hope the pick up the series for a 2nd season. I am very interested to see how well this series could develop if given the chance.
It should be canceled it too emo
Please don’t cancel it!!! I am totally addicted! It’s a great show.
I love this show! I don’t want it to be canceled. I will hate the CW forever if the cancel this show! so lets watch and spread the world and make it a trending topic on Twitter..
I absolutely love this show. Its got a great story line and the fact that its the NEW VERSION of the old show is awesome! Quit the comparisons to the old one and just let this one play out!! Really hope the CW does not cancel it!!
I hate that the reviews have been so horrible and many of them are riddled with false/unchecked facts and misgivings. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite story and I think this show is great. I think it has a lot of potential that I am eager to see fulfilled. Kristin and Jay are adorable together. I can’t wait for the next episode this week. I hope CW gives it a chance. I want to see it play out. WATCH, Check In on GETGLUE, Like the FACEBOOK page, and TWEET about it (HASHTAG it #SaveBATB, let’s make it TREND) so,… Read more »
I am watching the first episode now and I am really enjoying it. Please renew!!!:)
For all the negative press (reviews), I think B&B is a charming show, well worth watching.
Hope CW & viewers gives this show a chance.
I agree Sabrina CW needs to give this show a chance I loved it and even though it is a new version of Beauty and the Beast people need to quit comparing it with the old version and let it be what it is a NEW show. Again I loved it and am on board for this season and hopefully more to come it has potential people give it a chance!
I hope, Beauty and the Beast will survive, this show deserves it. I’m totally in love with all series.
[…] Diaries dropped slightly with a 1.2 demo rating (-8% week-to-week change) and 2.7 million viewers. Beauty and the Beast held steady with a 0.7 rating and 1.9 […]
I did love the Secret Cercle, I thought it was a good show, it’s too bad it was cancel but Beauty and the Beast I completly fell in love with that serie and I’m really really hoping it won’t be cancel.
I really do like Beauty and the Beast. Hopefully it isn’t cancelled so soon and is given the chance/time to show some of it’s improvements. Even from the first to second episode, there was improvements in the acting and writing. Of course, there is going to be improvements in the acting as the series goes forward and the actors become more familiar with one another. The story definitely has the potential to be really good, if they could just write it a little better…and maybe they have in later episodes. I just really hope we get to see, and it… Read more »
