At one time, The Blacklist was once of NBC’s top-rated shows. Those days are now gone and the peacock is trying a spin-off, The Blacklist: Redemption TV show. How will this series do in the ratings? Could it become a replacement for the original? Will The Blacklist: Redemption series be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Airing on the NBC television network, The Blacklist: Redemption stars Ryan Eggold, Famke Janssen, Edi Gathegi, Tawny Cypress, and Adrian Martinez. Terry O’Quinn recurs. A crime drama action thriller, this spin-off of The Blacklist features the slipperiest offenders from Red’s (James Spader) notorious list. Howard Hargrave (O’Quinn) founded Halcyon Aegis. Now his son, Blacklist undercover operative Thomas “Tom” Keen (Eggold), has joined Halcyon Aegis’ Grey Matters branch, led by the brilliant Susan “Scottie” Hargrave (Janssen). The unit also includes assassin Matias Solomon (Gathegi) and mercenary Nez Rowan (Tawny Cypress), as well as cyber hacker Dumont (Martinez). Out to redeem themselves for their past sins, the team tackles seemingly insurmountable predicaments that even governments won’t. Will their new, daring missions finally help these tortured creatures save their souls?
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Blacklist: Redemption TV series on NBC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
5/12 update: NBC has cancelled The Blacklist: Redemption after one short season. Details here.
I’m kinda in between with this show. It’s not completely terrible, but i almost feel like i’m watching something like NCIS, rather than The Blacklist.
I try to watch Redemption, in case it helps the Blacklist. I can not stand to look at Scotty. But I do love the blacklist. James Spader is excellent as Red. Best show on TV.
Agree 100% ,redemption with master criminal mama is just laughable, and what’s with tha idiotic rant baby bumpers
As a devout Blacklist fan from episode 1, I think The Blacklist Redemption is definitely cancel worthy! My guess is that viewers are predominantly Blacklist fans but it’s impossible to connect to this show for several reasons: Too much violence, tough seeing Tom outside of his original role, story lines are predictable. I could go on. I personally don’t know of anyone who watches it. I’ve tried! Writers should concentrate on improving The Blacklist! I’d hate to see it cancelled because people simply got disgusted/confused by the spinoff. What a pity that would be because James Spader is amazing! They… Read more »
Agree with you 100%marybeth ,blacklist is a great show, and James Spader is fantastic, redemption just silly
Redemption is no where near the writing and acting of Blacklist. Sorry it feels like a carbon copy of the Blacklist but it’s not. We do not care for this show.
allow me to point out the obvious– it’s not the blacklist because it’s not supposed to be the blacklist. THE BLACKLIST REDEMPTION IS ITS’ OWN SHOW. based on that, it’s terrific– fast paces, great cast, fierce writing, and very very timely with today’s headlines. if NBC supports the show and puts its’ money where its’ mouth is, it will be a hit. I bought the season pass and watch it without commercial interruption. it’s like watching the mission impossible movies. don’t give up on a good show!
Really like blacklist redemption hoping it gets renewed for another season.
I like Redemption. Tom was a great character on the and I think they shouldn’t have made him the nanny in Blacklist. I loved Blacklist but Red is boring now. They should have incorporated this storyline into Blacklist.
I think TBL and TBLR are laundering money and TPTB don’t really give a hoot about the show/s, they just have to have them around to funnel money into and out of. TBL was great in season 1 and then just tanked in an epic way. So, this show is not important to NBC, but the ability to move cash around is what they’re depending on.
I just read that Sky1 just acquired the UK rights to The Blacklist: Redemption. This will help in getting a season 2. The Blacklist is also a huge hit internationally so, it will help in getting a season 5 for that show.
We don’t care for Redemption. The BlackList is better written and has better actors. It’s quite difficult following Redemption. Bring Tom home to LIZ and dont feel you have to fix the show. No reason why you can’t bring Scottie in the picture at some point but Redemption is not a keeper. Thanks.
Exactly!!! Redemption sucks, the original Blacklist is still amazing, may it live long!!!
Totally agree!
I like The Blacklist:Redemption and I hope NBC gives it a chance and not cancel it.
Bring back Blacklist. Great show. Cancel redemption. Boring. Kind of stupid and far fetched.
Agree 500%
Well Quite Frankly speaking everyone on the cast did a great job specially Tom’s MOM and DAD such a twisted plot this season does need to come back because there are alot of viewers looking forward to watching the new season. it’s FANTASTIC
I Like this show. Its very rare for a tv show to top pilot episode ratings on the next week. usually it goes other way. I think this show will have good future. & by the way this show is not an alternative to Blacklist both have different style
I totally agree . Redemtion is fast paced and has merit on its own. Tom is as intense as ever, and the basic storyline has had clever twists and interesting characters. It is not necessary to link it further to The Blacklist than it already is. Redemption is fun watching as a separate series. It can succeed by itself with its own style and tone.
Do Not Cancel. We look forward to more episodes.
A decent uptick from week 1, but with The Blacklist struggling it doesn’t make sense to further dilute the brand with this spin-off.
An 0.8, not a good starting number considering most shows demonstrate a drop in viewers after week one. As for myself, I passed on it after twenty minutes.
Sorry it sinks will not be back. What were you thinking? Very disappointing not the caliber Blacklist is and never will be
Not even a 10th of the caliber of the Blacklist.
