A&E has cancelled their crime drama, Breakout Kings after two seasons and 23 episodes. It seems this case is closed.
Breakout Kings follows a squad of U.S. Marshals who make special deals with prisoners to catch escaped convicts. The cast includes Laz Alonso, Domenick Lombardozzi, Brooke Nevin, Malcolm Goodwin, Serinda Swan, and Jimmi Simpson.
The series debuted in March 2011 to a 1.2 rating in the demo with 2.8 million viewers. The ratings declined in later weeks and the first season finale drew a 0.8 rating with 2.01 million.

In March 2012, the second season debuted with a 0.8 rating with 2.11 million. In that episode, many viewers were shocked to see Alonso’s lead character Charlie abruptly killed off. Alonso later told fans that leaving the show was not his idea.
Over the course of season two, the ratings for Breakout Kings further declined, hitting a low of a 0.5 rating with 1.27 million. The finale aired last month and A&E has decided they don’t want a third season.
Of the cancellation, Malcolm Goodwin (Shea on the series) tweeted, “So Breakout Kings is canceled. Thx to all 4 the luv & support over the last 2 seasons! It’s been a fun experience! Much luv! On to the next.”
The news comes soon after co-creator Matt Olmstead was signed to run NBC’s new fireman drama, Chicago Fire.

U just finished watching season 2 and now I’m super upset to find out they never made more.it was so good they got me hooked and then cut me off cold turkey
This show honestly was my favorite of all the shows like it. I loved the characters and the story line. We literally had a group of 15 people that got together to watch this show. We would have never seen it being cancelled. Season 3 not happening devastated all of us. We felt they did this preemptively without any real reason. Ratings didn’t drop anywhere near enough for them to outright cancel the show. Another season or 2 and it would have blown up guaranteed. Biggest mistake ever. The producers could have at least had a series finale…where the cons don’t rat on ray…but ray disbands the task force. The chief doesn’t prove anything and ray transfers to different state. The cons get their months off and are moved to a half way house for the remainder of their sentences. They get to see their loved ones and get real jobs…all ends on high notes.
I just got through watching season two, and I want more!
I guess we will never know if the Team Gave him up to be free or if they stayed Loyal…..
I would like to think they remained Loyal
to be part of something bigger than themselves and that would make them Truly Rehabilitated…

Yes I am very sad that break out kings was cancelled. and very disappointed that they did not at least make a season finale. I think they could have ended it on a better note. What does that have to say about the writers and producers and all that.

There needs to be a season three everybody wants is on Netflix and every loves it the whole family got together requesters over and over it’s a good series and I hope they bring it back
This is the worst! I only found this series on Netflix aswell. Cause it was kinda a plot from Prison Break. I wanted to see it. And to find out there is no season 3. F-That. The ending of season 2 OMG, I need to know what the team does….. WHAAAA

I’m confused, I never knew about the show until I ran across it on Netflix. Wasn’t gonna waste my time on a “Prison Break” wanna be show, until I read the plot and watched the first episode all the way til the last and then I was hooked. I watched it at work and late at night while the wife was sleep. Hate they cancelled it I was looking forward to seeing if they got released or not. Oh well on to the next. But awesome show though
