It looks like the Keno brothers are done finding “buried treasure,” at least on FOX anyway. The network has dropped the short-lived non-scripted series after one season. Buried Treasure ran for four episodes last summer, from August 24th until September 14th.
The TV series follows two professional appraisers, Leigh and Leslie Keno, as they travel to people’s houses to inspect potentially rare and unusual items. The participants are often in need of cash and so episodes share their emotional journies as items are brought to auction and sold.
The Keno brothers are well known from their work on PBS’ Antiques Roadshow series.
Unfortunately, the non-scripted show certainly wasn’t a secret gold mine for the network. The premiere attracted a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.67 million total viewers. It was in fourth place in its timeslot, beaten by a sitcom repeat and other reality fare. The final episode hit a low with a 0.8 rating and 2.80 million.
Over the four weeks, the show averaged just a 1.0 rating with 3.51 million viewers. The network chose not to bring the series back for a second season this summer or for the 2012-13 schedule.
What do you think? Did you enjoy watching Buried Treasure? Would you liked to have seen it come back for a second season?
I’m sorry but this show was crap as the rating proved. The twins should stick to appraisals on the Antique Road Show..
I watch the show randomly during my vacation in Curacao. And now I think – it is one from the best show in the world. Very interesting, educational and dramatic-like action movie without professional actors. And I hope I will see new episodes soon! Thank to everyone who made this show!

We loved Buried Treasure and wondered why we couldn’t find more episodes. So sad it’s been cancelled…sure hope another network picks it up! Keno brothers know their stuff!!!
I think the Keno brothers are quite interesting & would love to see more of them! I didn’t even know about their show until I happened to catch a rerun nearly a year after the series end. It might have possibly done better if it had been advertised more. I think they are very underappreciated & could have a show on PBS just showing and explaining about antique furniture.
I loved the show. i was ready to ak them to come into my mom’s home and look at her collection of tiffany and more…too bad it’s over.
So sad this program is cancelled. I too just discovered reruns and would have loved for them to come to my home to check out my family’s treasures.
We too just discovered this show with the reruns recently and LOVED the show. Wish it would be available with new shows. Very interesting!!
Just saw a re-run. It was great love the show.
I t helped others find value on what they had and did not know.
Love the brothers and there understanding on how hard it is to part with items.
I would love them to come to my house, I am a collector of fishing lures, tools and music instruments.
Absolutely LOVED the program, the brothers, and what I learned from the show. Can’t believe more people didn’t enjoy it. Wish it was on every night!!!~
It was a great show that should have been renewed.
I just discovered this show last night on CNBC and absolutely LOVED it. Am so disappointed it is cancelled. I think it would do very well given a better shot. Bring it back!
It’s a shame that Buried Treasure was cancelled!! It was a great show and I loved all the episodes. Please bring back this show!!! It may have taken a little while to catch on, but it is indeed a winner that deserves a second chance.
Best regards,
Carol Chitwood
I love this show and can not believe it will be canceled it was poorly advertised I will boycott fox until they decide to bring it back it makes no sense that a show like the Mindy project or New girl or raising Hope will be on but put on a decent show that is helpful entertaining and interesting and they cut it shame on you fox please Keno brothers go to another station
I loved it! Too bad it wasn’t well advertised. Would have loved to see it continue.
It comes in on CNBC here, so I don’t often find it.
Loved it! Maybe they should try it again and do better promos this time around. I know LOTS of people who would watch it religiously!
Heard the Kenos got caught not living up to their word as to auctioning the items found.
