After an unsuccessful run on Monday and Wednesday nights, NBC pulled Chase from the primetime schedule in January. It was the latest bit of bad news for fans of the show. After giving the series a full season order for 22 installments in October, NBC cut the series back to 18 episodes in December. By the time it was pulled, only 13 episodes had aired and they averaged a very poor 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 5.26 million viewers.
Though the peacock network has not officially cancelled Chase, it’s impossible to imagine that they’d renew it for a second season with such poor ratings. Still, there is some good news on the horizon.
NBC has decided to burn off the remaining five installments on Saturday nights at 8pm, beginning April 23rd. Here’s the network description for episodes 14 and 15:
“FATHER FIGURE” — A ROGUE COP PREYS ON VULNERABLE VICTIMS AND ATTEMPTS TO OUTWIT THE U.S. MARSHALS –ERIC MABIUS (“UGLY BETTY”) GUEST STARS–A corrupt police officer, Justin Tate (guest star Eric Mabius), preys on single mothers in an attempt to get close to their young daughters. The U.S. Marshals work to stay two steps ahead of Tate, even casting U.S. Marshal Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as a ploy to lure him in. The case brings up raw emotions for Daisy (Rose Rollins) while Luke (Jesse Metcalfe) is involved in an internal investigation that could potentially indict Jimmy (Cole Hauser) and Marco (Amaury Nolasco).
“SEVEN YEARS” — THE U.S. MARSHALS TRAIL A PRISON ESCAPEE SEEKING REVENGE– The U.S. Marshals hunt for prison escapee David Bottner (guest star Jason Butler Harner) who launches his own desperate search for evidence of his innocence. He leads Annie (Kelli Giddish) and Jimmy (Cole Hauser) through the horrific events that sealed his seven-year jail sentence, resulting in a twisted outcome. Reeling from a previous emotional case, Daisy (Rose Rollins) unearths a hidden vice, which lands her in some trouble she might not be able to recover from. Also starring: Jesse Metcalfe (Luke Watson) and Amaury Nolasco (Marco Martinez)
Though NBC hasn’t released a schedule that far in advance, it looks like the finale will air on May 21st. NBC will hold their upfront meeting for advertisers on May 16th and announce their upcoming schedule. We’ll know for sure that Chase has been cancelled before or by that date.
What do you think? Are you glad to see Chase is returning, even for just a handful of episodes? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on?

OMG!!! ANNIES BACK I LOVE HER SOOOOO MUCH! VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats GREAT news, it was one of the best shows on TV last year. It was such a disapointment to see it had been canceled. “PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS NBC HAS.” Give it another chance NBC!!!!
I am really glad there will be 5 more episodes – WANT MORE!!!!! Cannot understand why it did not catch on. Maybe not enough publicity for women to know that it was about a strong woman figure and a good show. Give it another chance – but give more publicity too.
YES!!! Keep it!!!! FINALLY a good show on tv, don’t cancel!!
I’m so glad that they are bringing back Chase to finish the episodes. I thought that Annie showed how strong a woman can really be. It was a great show and I hated to see it taken off, never missed an episode. Hope they decide to bring it back for another season and give it a chance to catch on. Give it a chance!!!!!

annie’s back! at least for a lil’ while.
Chase was a solid show… I enjoyed it very much… too bad networks don’t give these shows a chance to succeed anymore… seems like 3 weeks of ratings where they don’t want them to be and then the network moves the show to another night… next, out the door… there is no way NBC will renew this show… so enjoy the final 5 episodes…
The Show is great!!! I hope NBC give it a second chance too!!!
Great!!! I am so glad that NBC listened to the fans who wanted to see the last episodes! I hope everyone tunes in on Saturday nights and NBC will see what a super show Chase is with a large fan base. The episodes about the drug cartels are true to what is going on at the border and need to be shown. I hope that the series will be renewed for next year and for years to come. Annie is a gutsy, no-nonsense character who does not quit or give up when the odds are against her. She makes a… Read more »
I enjoyed this show. I have kept up with Southland on TNT since NBC dumped it. My favorite series of all time, maybe, was Life and they dumped it. This network is ran by idiots!
I am glad we will get to see the last 5 episodes. This is one of the best shows on NBC this year. I hope they bring it back for a second season.
Loved such a strong yet flawed female character in Annie Frost! Never missed an episode. Really hope NBC gives it another chance!
HELL YES!!! Chase was one of the best show’s on TV, What a disappointment to see it replaced with some stupid game show….that didnt last eather.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…Bring back CHASE for a 2nd season…remember it took 3 seasons’s of Sinefeld before it found it’s audiance…and there are Many Many other examples of great TV shows takeing a few season’s to catch on…..Give this one the time and place to do that as well.
Chase was one of the best new shows that premiered last season. I didn’t miss a single episode and loved each and every one of them! The last 2 episodes were by far my favorite because you really began getting to know the characters and the love brewing for Annie and her partner. I am so glad to hear that NBC will air the last few episodes…let’s all tune in and pray it gets renewed for another season! NBC has shown to produce good and excellent quality shows only to cancel them after 5 to 10 episodes…the reason nobody is… Read more »
