Chicago Med is staging a Hill Street Blues reunion! Daniel J. Travanti is set to guest star on season two of the NBC medical drama, and this reunites him with Dick Wolf – the man that brought Chicago Med to life. One of Wolf’s first jobs was as a writer for Hill Street Blues.
Travanti will play a “an older patient whose son and trophy girlfriend are in a battle over his care.”
Diane Frolov, the executive producer of Chicago Med, said the following about the appearance, according to Entertainment Weekly:
“Daniel is a very talented actor with a great body of work, starring in one of the greatest American TV shows of all time, Hill Street Blues. We’re very lucky to have had to work with him.”

I loved hill street Blues, Daniel was great in the show
What keeps this from being just another med drama? Perfect casting!!! Decent story lines. Kudos for Dan Travanti character. Grew up on best cop show of its time. Do something great for fans and put Third Watch in reruns somewhere and release full season DVDs. So say I.
