Jennifer Love Hewitt may have left Criminal Minds this year but the show will be back. CBS has renewed the venerable series for an 11th season on the network.
Criminal Minds continues to follow the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) out of Quantico. In addition to Hewitt, this season’s cast included Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness, and Joe Mantegna.
In season six, Criminal Minds has been averaging a 2.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.31 million viewers. Year-to-year, that’s down by 14% in the demo and down by 5% in viewership.
That’s obviously not a good trend for the ratings but it’s important to remember that most of the network’s shows are down as well. Plus, Criminal Minds is CBS’ third highest-rated dramatic series so it wasn’t in any danger of being cancelled.
Word is that negotiations are underway with some of the castmembers and the studio is looking for ways to trim the budget. One way or another, the show will be back next season.

I’ve been a huge fan since Season 1 – I even watch the episodes on Netflix. Happy that jlh is focusing on her family but she’s a better fit on Ghost Whisperer. Hated that it was canceled. I also agree that JJ’s husband needs additional episodes. I mean what happened to his career? Good show.
Criminal Minds has benn my favorite show since day one. I’ve dreaded the end of Season 10, and when I read that Season 11 might be discontinued I was heartbroken. I’m thrilled to learn that the show will be continued! It won’t bother me at all if Jennifer Love Hewitt doesn’t return. She looks like a droopy, sad-eyed beagle and doesn’t seem to be a good fit withe remainder of the cast.
Just for clarification: Beagles are neither droopy or sad-eyed. Bassets are!! I ought to know, I have had 6 Bassets!!!!!!!!

Longtime fan , didn’t approve of Hewitt. Actually turned off the last episode at first, seeing her pregnant and thinking this show would go downhill like Bones did. Finally watched it and was happy to see she is leaving. If they need another actor, perhaps it could be a rotating part with unknowns as FBI or other agents who stumble upon cases for the BAU. Please don’t turn into a soap like Bones and Major Crimes.
One of my favorite shows I’ve been a fan from season 1, I never connected with jlh, lived her on ghost whisperer. But not criminal minds. I would love to see Paget back, need a story line involving Penelope in danger. You maybe sister of the guy that shot her.

I am so glad that Criminal Minds is being renewed. I was becoming concerned. I am sorry to hear Jennifer is leaving, but she must do, what she must do. I think it is important that the rest of the crew, especially Shemar (my favorite), should all stay. The group works well together with the show as do their characters on the show.
I absolutely love criminal minds please don’t ever cancel it I’d be upset to see Reid or Garcia leave I’m so in love with Dr. Reid 🙂

Yes, I am glad they are returning. Really like all the cast members, just bring back Prentiss and show would be complete again. The best show on TV now!

So glad it’s being renewed! I love all the characters. I would like to see Hodge find a love interest that actually stays and I hope Jennifer Love Hewitt will be back next year. I’ve enjoyed seeing her character develop.
I am surprised CBS are renewing criminal minds, each season it loses a case member as well as ratings.
This is my favorite show so im very glad for the season 11,and yes it will probably upset me if some of the charactes don’t get back for the season. Love the show never cancel it PLEASE ♡♥
Criminal Minds is my all time favorite tv show. I’m so glad that there will be another great season. I am also happy to see that Jennifer is leaving. Maybe they can bring back Paget! I hope this shows lasts a very long time!

One of my favorite shows so glad it is renewed. Also glad to see JLH go as I am not a fan of hers. The current cast is more than fine. Possibly some guest appearances would be good. Hope this show survives many more years.
