It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.
What do you think? Will you miss the Ewings? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you watch it on another channel?
I’m very upset Tnt has chosen to cancel dallas only after three seasons. If everything wasn’t available on Netflix and thee options . People have a lot of options with all the technology that is now available. From phones to tablets and I pads. With all the reality tv series there are not a lot options on tv, for people that are not into reality tv. Dallas was fresh and very well written. To see where the ewings left out at with there children explained a lot the story of the Ewing family. We need more family oriented television more… Read more »
Dallas was well received in England and although the series three has not been showed here YET I purchased a downloaded from Blinkbox…It was brilliant. All my adult family watched it. You guys need to know when a show is good and equal to some of the best British Drama, IT IS so someone see sense and get it back on track for Season 4 Please.
So sorry to hear this show was cancelled. I would definitely watch it if it’s picked up by another network. Love the cast and the story lines….will miss this quality program.
Very disappointed that Dallas is not coming back. My family and I loved the show. I hope somehow/someway another network picks it up. We are not very happy at all with TNT right now. Fortunately, there are many other channels to watch besides TNT.
I want to see season 4 of Dallas. I really liked this show. Maybe Netflix could do season 4.
Don’t turn off Dallas. Awesome series. My wife and I’s favorite show by far. Please bring it back.
There was no need to take Dallas off i loved that show please bring it back.
In want Dallas back on. C’mon, admit you made a mistake and now correct it.
Loved this show and very disappointed with the cancellation. It was pretty much the only show I watched on TNT. Had to search online to find out all info on show times after 1st season, including the cancellation. YES I would watch Dallas on another channel, providing that the information was well advertised. Seems like every time a great show comes along it gets canceled.
im so dissapointed i was looking 4ward to season 4. i really enjoyed the shw. When i was younger i watched dallas, knotts landing and recently dallas. omg im not happy that season 4 has been cancelled. yesi would watch it on any channel. please reconsider a seadon 4 love thecast love the show thank you
i will miss Dallas I watched the original one also
They’re right about TNT not giving Dallas the treatment it deserved. It is a class show. And TNT, I guess, just isn’t a class network. I would have grown to watching TNT more…but now? What a dirty deal they did by some low life programmers. I hope someone, some good network with class, will see that this show is miles above the crap that’s being broadcast now. I look at the TV schedule and I think…most of this is crap. If I spent the days checking off the shows that are not even worth the electrons, I’d come up with… Read more »
probably one of the reasons for low ratings was the lack of promotion. The first season they even advertised it in movie theatres. Being a fan of the show I am very disappointed in the cancelation. But I found myself looking on the internet for when season 3 started and the times- not very good promotion and advertising. if the show failed its tnts fault. yes of course I would watch on another station.
U have 2 bring dallas back love the show! There is nothing good on tv any more , looked forward 2 watching the show every week
Dallas was the best show on TNT. I never missed an episode of the original back in the day. I was pleased when I heard it was coming back. I enjoyed it very much with many of the original cast and the great actors playing the kids grown up. I couldn’t wait for a new episode each week and am very sad to hear it has been cancelled. I no longer have a reason to watch TNT. I would watch Dallas on any network. Hoping another network picks up this great series. At the very least there needs to be… Read more »
