It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.
What do you think? Will you miss the Ewings? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you watch it on another channel?
Yes I would watch on another station. So please switch over and make them sorry for dropping the show.. GO TO OWN CHANNEL.
How can TNT leave us hanging? I was looking forward to a female version of JR,
All of the actors were OUTSTANDING. In my opinion 2nd mistake made to add to the end of another good prime time show cancelled only to add some MESS like the Librarians and Perception.
Seems like everytime TNT have WINNER, somebody makes a DUMB decision to cancel…..MISTAKE…..made one when Army Wives got cancelled too.
My husband and I were looking forward to season 4. Definitely would watch on another network. While J.R. was a dominating character, I was certainly able to see J.R. Junior stepping into his shoes.
I have watched this show since 1970’s and thrilled to see it capture the family as it grows. This show has all the elements to keep you guessing who’s the bad seed this time. It was hard to see JR gone, but I think Cliff has taken that bad seed from him. It’s sad not to have a continued story, but like others they get cancelled and never an ending to it. Everyone needs closure. Can’t you have a last Her Rah to have that closure in a movie on TV, or bring it back. I hate any show that… Read more »
please bring it back. been watching since the day it premired way back when.
I wish a network would get their act together and bring back Dallas. The fans want it back dearly. If they did that it would be received very positively. How could TNT do this… why it’s against America, apple pie and rock n roll. I hope they bring Dallas back to TV. And soon.
Uhmmmm Cliff does anyone remember cliff barnes. I suspect he took control of tnt and this was his final master plan of revenge. If he cant have it all then neither can the ewings.
To whom it may concern; After watching Dallas series, i have to tell you i would really like to see Dallas 4 th season. I feel you have left me wanting more. Christopher dying left my mouth open, Alana pregnant not knowing who the father is, i must say not right. Nicolous, head of cartels…well can I say wow! What happens to pamela Barnes Ewings? Come on
Hopefully some network will pick the show up
Please bring Dallas back. I have watched Dallas since the very beginning and eagerly look forward to each new episode. The surprising twists and turns in the plot have always captured my attention. Please reconsider and bring back Dallas. Thank you. Valerie

We seriously need to have talks with the networks and having Dallas return to TV. Let’s give it the treatment it deserves. It is truly a great show. TV is not the same without it.
