Designated Survivor has a new leader. Deadline reports Jeff Melvoin will replace Jon Harmon Feldman as showrunner for the ABC TV series.
The political thriller follows Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland), a lower-level Cabinet member, who ends up becoming the President of the United States after an attack on Washington D.C. The cast also includes Natascha McElhone, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, LaMonica Garrett, Tanner Buchanan, Kal Penn, and Maggie Q.
This is the second time during the show’s freshman season that a showrunner has been replaced. Initially, Feldman took over for original showrunner Amy B. Harris. Now, he will be leaving after the series’ 10th episode. A reason for Feldman’s departure has not been given.
Melvoin has worked as an executive producer on a number of TV series, including Army Wives and Alias.
What do you think? Are you watching Designated Survivor? Do you want a second season?
I would love to see the Series continued. I can see how it can stop at Series 1, Episode 12, or continue. Has great potential for the writers to keep digging into the Deep State or Government behind the Government in the USA. Very easy to binge watch too, one episode after another.
We love Designated Survivor and so do our friends. We can’t wait for the return to see how things turn out. Please keep it on!
Love this show. Lots of twists and turns. Keep it on
Love it. Keep
Best show on TV hope it continues!
Great entertainment. Not only consistently enough. Show is on for 2 successive weeks and then disappears for 3-4 weeks. Not the right way to run a network.
Love the show! Not on consistently….doesn’t help the ratings. Change nights or give it more coverage. The show is intelligent and interesting. Keefer Sutherland is amazing…as usual. Please continue this outstanding series.
Captivating series. This show needs to continue; storyline could be close to reality
