Well, that was quick. After just two weeks, CBS has pulled their new Doubt TV show from the Wednesday schedule. Has the series been cancelled? Will it be back?
The Doubt TV show stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis; Elliot Gould as Isaiah Roth; Laverne Cox as Cameron Wirth; Dreama Walker as Tiffany Simon; and Kobi Libii as Nick Brady. Sadie is a brilliant attorney who starts to fall for her charismatic client. Pediatric surgeon Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale) was recently accused of murdering his girlfriend, 24 years ago. Sadie has to hide her growing feelings from everyone, including her close friend and colleague, Albert Cobb (Dulé Hill). Getting involved with her client could put Sadie’s career and happiness at risk — particularly if Billy is found guilty. She must work all the harder to prove reasonable doubt, even while she has some doubts of her own.
When the series debuted two weeks ago, there was no “doubt” that the new CBS drama series was already in trouble. The premiere attracted a meager 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.31 million viewers. This week’s installment drew a 0.60 rating with 4.03 million. Those figures are just too low for “the most-watched network” and CBS has now pulled Doubt from the schedule.
On March 1st, Doubt will be replaced by a rerun of Bull and, on March 8th, CBS will launch the second season of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. While CBS has not officially cancelled Doubt, there’s no chance that they’ll be renewing it for a second season.
The network ordered 13 episodes of Doubt and all of them have reportedly been completed. Prior to the series being pulled, CBS had only scheduled four more installments of Doubt. In the past, CBS has burned off leftover episodes of cancelled series on Saturday nights over the summer months.
What do you think? Do you like the Doubt TV show? Do you think that CBS should cancel the series? Would you watch the remaining episodes?
We’ll darn! Thought it was a great show!
I loved this show. I love Dule Hill. Please bring it back.
We really liked the show it was great!
This was the one new show this season that my husband and I really liked. I sincerely hope CBS will air the remaining episodes!
This show showed MUCH promise. You would think the Networks would have introducing and marketing a new show down to a science. I certainly would watch the other episodes and think the premise shows much promise over some of the crapola that is brought back over n over! IMO, o’course.
I loved this show. Give it a chance. Maybe you just added this show at the wrong time. You should have started it in September when people are looking for new shows. Bring it back. Katherine Heigle is amazing.
Loved this show. Why would you cancel with giving the show a chance. So very disappointment. This show was refreshing!! BRING THE SHOW BACK!!!!!
Can’t believe they want to cancel it after just 2 episodes. Really good show with interesting characters. They should give it a different time slot and MORE TIME!! I loved it and want it back!
I loved it!!! I’m sad. One of best new shows I’ve seen. Katherine heigl and the story line was fresh and fun. Please reconsider…. maybe a different day or time?
Bring it back!! I liked it and you didn’t even give it a chance after only 2 airings. If nothing else make it a summer series or a different night.
Really liked the new show!
Please bring it back. Loved it!
WHY do they cancel a show after only two airings? I LOVED this show. I know many others who did and some of my friends heard about it and wanted to know when it was on. I went on mid season…Shame on CBS. At least air all 13 episodes and see what happens. And since they only aired two people think it’s off and will not look for it. And by the time they do air the remaining shows people forget the first two. What is wrong with CBS? I will not watch any new shows…why bother?
Finally got to see Doubt from our DVR. My husband and I both agreed it’s a keeper only to realize there were only two episodes! Thanks a bunch CBS! Loosers
I loved the show- kept waiting for the next episode- really sorry it was canceled.
