Well, that was quick. After just two weeks, CBS has pulled their new Doubt TV show from the Wednesday schedule. Has the series been cancelled? Will it be back?
The Doubt TV show stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis; Elliot Gould as Isaiah Roth; Laverne Cox as Cameron Wirth; Dreama Walker as Tiffany Simon; and Kobi Libii as Nick Brady. Sadie is a brilliant attorney who starts to fall for her charismatic client. Pediatric surgeon Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale) was recently accused of murdering his girlfriend, 24 years ago. Sadie has to hide her growing feelings from everyone, including her close friend and colleague, Albert Cobb (Dulé Hill). Getting involved with her client could put Sadie’s career and happiness at risk — particularly if Billy is found guilty. She must work all the harder to prove reasonable doubt, even while she has some doubts of her own.
When the series debuted two weeks ago, there was no “doubt” that the new CBS drama series was already in trouble. The premiere attracted a meager 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.31 million viewers. This week’s installment drew a 0.60 rating with 4.03 million. Those figures are just too low for “the most-watched network” and CBS has now pulled Doubt from the schedule.
On March 1st, Doubt will be replaced by a rerun of Bull and, on March 8th, CBS will launch the second season of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. While CBS has not officially cancelled Doubt, there’s no chance that they’ll be renewing it for a second season.
The network ordered 13 episodes of Doubt and all of them have reportedly been completed. Prior to the series being pulled, CBS had only scheduled four more installments of Doubt. In the past, CBS has burned off leftover episodes of cancelled series on Saturday nights over the summer months.
What do you think? Do you like the Doubt TV show? Do you think that CBS should cancel the series? Would you watch the remaining episodes?
I really liked it! Cool cast and a slightly upbeat take on serious issues with cool twists and back stories. C’mon cbs!!
Seinfeld and Cheers had terrible first seasons, thank goodness networks gave new shows a real chance unlike today.
I enjoyed Doubt and would have continued watching it.
I’m just aggravated about it cbs just please finish the season instead of putting on reruns of a much worse show but I’m sure you won’t i mean you stop under the dome which was killer ratings all i ask is post the remains episodes or put them on cbs .com so your fans can still see the best show since under the dome hell id pay to watch the remains episode even if i have to watch on your website if your not to busy trying to find reruns plz reply
cbs is redicolus 2 episodes and then cancel atleastn finish the season instead not putting on reruns cos is going down to hell lost the bid to Super Bowl **** atlas sell the remains episodes to a better tv series like fox or abc tnt cos if you start something finish it i mean damn cos is just getting worse and worse
I was very disappointed that Doubt was not on tonight. I looked forward to watching it all day. I liked all the actors, especially Duley Hill.
Bring it back, please!
That was My new favorite show, I am really disappointed, finally a show with 2 really great stars, canceled because it wasn’t liberal enough…..
I am fed up & will not watch the shows they do keep on, the anti America political agenda….cbs sucks
We liked the show doubt and sad we only got the two shows…figures they didn’t even give it a chance…very mad,…hard to find any shows that aren’t repeates…disappointed!
I would like to know if the surgeon is guilty or not. I liked the show and would love to finish seeing the episodes left. It was very interesting and the cast worked great together. Please bring it back so we can see the unanswered questions answer.
Yes, renew My family liked it a lot. Please continue
I was s disappointed when I heard it was cancelled. My husband texted me the minute he heard. We are sad. I think that it can be attributed to bad timing. The demographics they are speaking of don’t always watch on cue. Busy lives, work schedules and CHILDREN are all factors. I hope it somehow picked up by another network. It had substance and excellent acting/actors. Reminded me of a modern day Boston Leagal. My thoughts!
This was one of the best shows ever released on CBS! Please someone bring this show back or a different station.
There aren’t many new shows that I’m interested in trying, but I did decide to watch this one and I really enjoyed it. I like the actors and the characters and I’d really like to see the show continue. I can’t believe it’s being dropped after only 2 episodes. I would definitely watch additional episodes if the show is brought back.
I can’t believe CBS cancelled Doubt after only 2 episodes. They didn’t even give it a chance. I really liked this show. I don’t understand why the remaining episodes can’t be aired since all 13 episodes were complete. I would really like to see the rest of the episodes and find out if the doctor is guilty or innocent. Come on CBS, instead of all the reruns lately, air the remaining episodes.
I am tired of getting hooked on a new show and then it getting pulled or cancelled come on CBS. You could at least see how the case ends. Definitely would watch a new episode than a repeat of Bull which personally we think is dumb. Well CBS won’t be getting any ratings from us tonight bye bye CBS.
Really? You didn’t even give it a chance. I found it to be a good show. Something a little different to watch… Find a better time slot for it..put it on Saturday night to replace shows that have been around since the beginning of time… Katherine Heigl has paid her dues and it’s time for her to come back to TV… there’s far worse shows out there that have lasted way too long!
This show got exactly what it deserved i feel bad of Katherine and Dule but this was an unrealistic plot with too many snooze moments it took me 4 different times to finish the second show tie it to a tree and swing away. nobody cares about E.G. love life and that K.H fails for the wrong guy. the casting dept should have been fired before the first show aired
