Well, that was quick. After just two weeks, CBS has pulled their new Doubt TV show from the Wednesday schedule. Has the series been cancelled? Will it be back?
The Doubt TV show stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis; Elliot Gould as Isaiah Roth; Laverne Cox as Cameron Wirth; Dreama Walker as Tiffany Simon; and Kobi Libii as Nick Brady. Sadie is a brilliant attorney who starts to fall for her charismatic client. Pediatric surgeon Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale) was recently accused of murdering his girlfriend, 24 years ago. Sadie has to hide her growing feelings from everyone, including her close friend and colleague, Albert Cobb (Dulé Hill). Getting involved with her client could put Sadie’s career and happiness at risk — particularly if Billy is found guilty. She must work all the harder to prove reasonable doubt, even while she has some doubts of her own.
When the series debuted two weeks ago, there was no “doubt” that the new CBS drama series was already in trouble. The premiere attracted a meager 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.31 million viewers. This week’s installment drew a 0.60 rating with 4.03 million. Those figures are just too low for “the most-watched network” and CBS has now pulled Doubt from the schedule.
On March 1st, Doubt will be replaced by a rerun of Bull and, on March 8th, CBS will launch the second season of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. While CBS has not officially cancelled Doubt, there’s no chance that they’ll be renewing it for a second season.
The network ordered 13 episodes of Doubt and all of them have reportedly been completed. Prior to the series being pulled, CBS had only scheduled four more installments of Doubt. In the past, CBS has burned off leftover episodes of cancelled series on Saturday nights over the summer months.
What do you think? Do you like the Doubt TV show? Do you think that CBS should cancel the series? Would you watch the remaining episodes?
I really liked this show! I was looking forward to watching it and Bull came on. I do not like Bull!
Was looking like a good series, I can’t understand why they would cancel it after only 2 shows.
Not fair to pull a show after just two episodes. I thought it was shaping up to be a good series.
Kathryn Heigl is the most annoying actress ever. I loved Grey’s Anatomy and I was really glad when she left. I won’t watch another show with her in it. Nothing against Doubt, but I personally can’t stomach her.
She only became popular because she looked like Britney Spears. No talent.
I loved it and I’m so disappointed that it’s been dumped.
I really enjoyed this new show, especially the role of Laverne Cox. CBS you need to give the show a chance, or at least finish showing season one.
Should be NBC not CBS….
Forget cbs NBC comment
I thought it was a pretty good show. I hope it doesn’t get cancelled and if it does, at least give the fans closure….
Please give it a chance!!!! Two shows is just not enough to decide.
I was finally going to watch something that wasn’t on Amazon, Netflix, or HBO and you cancelled it after 2 episodes?? I no sooner started telling people about it and it was cancelled. Back to streaming for me!
I would like to see the ending
Come on! Why so soon. I loved it! I love Katherine Heigl! I love Laverne Cox! This is bullcrap!
This is just plain stupid. How can you even know what’s going on in two episodes enough to cancel a show. You don’t count the millions of us that DVR programs to watch at our convenience either.
I hope it doesn’t get cancelled! It’s a really good show!
Awful show. CBS must have been desperate to even consider it. All is well now.
that is ridiculous. I was so looking forward to seeing one of the better shows recently added. they really should dump the boring replacement. Doubt was good I really liked the acting chemistry and the intertwining of personal lives and playing attorneys also. maybe it would work if it came on earlier… please bring it back
