His life is turned upside down when he learns that he has ALS and must now choose one of his three sons as his successor. The rest of the cast includes Taraji P. Henson, Malik Yoba, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere Gray, Trai Byers, Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday, and Gabourey Sidibe.

What do you think? Do you like the Empire TV show? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a second season or would you rather have seen it cancelled?
Love it
i wasnt going to watch the show because i dislike rap music but my friend was watching it in class so i joined her and got addicted within like 5 minutes of it and binged watched it so now i am up to date for next week. i am glad the show got a renewal it is among one of the best shows on tv
This show is good but how come it gets renewed right away and Gang Related, a much better show, gets axed. I just don’t get it. Bring back Gang Related!!!
Because FOX has had such a horrible year, they wanted to renew that show before it collapsed (FOX won’t let it collapse but it will probably ebb quickly as soon as FOX stops the PR perfusion).
As for Gang Related it was a flop right off the bat, but given how Kevin Reilly kept renewing uber-flops Mindy Project and New Girl, I understand your confusion…
Already have my recorder programmed for next season. I love Cookie Momster! She reminds me of boardroom members who dropped their facades for a minute, but she says what she means and feels, without filter, all of the time. Great to see top notch actors and performers, many of whom I haven’t seen in a long time, and still doing their stuff. Would pay if Joan Collins (as Anika’s Grandmamomster) would do a few scenes with Taraji P. The music, the clothes, the plot, Lee Butler, and now, John Singleton — I am losing my mind, and (mentally) jumping up… Read more »

Thank you.
The show is good but it is too rated R for kids. Please put it on HBO instead. Great actors!!!
The rating is 14, like virtually everything on ABC tonight (Shondaday), and Special Victims, and many other shows on network television.
I love it and thanks for renewing it
Love it !!!!!

Long overdue and refreshing for Fox with Empire. Reminds me of the days when New York Undercover was on and there was moe diversity on tv. Thoroughly enjoying. Great cast of talented actors.
Diversity is great. Bad shows… not so much…
KEEP IT !!!!! I love, love it ……..
What the hell are you doing writer!!!!! Putting the whole of episode 3 on here (its like your giving us all the details so people don’t have to watch. What wrong with you? I have never see anybody do that.
I love – love this show, my favorite show now! The beats, music, singing is soooooooo on point, I truly enjoyed each week can’t wait….. great acting as well….. touching on a lot great issues of today generation. I’m soooooooooo proud of the producers!! All thumbs up!
Very nice Street Team post… 😉

This is a new fresh show. Hope it continues. Good Watch!!!
After the first two episodes of Empire I am hooked. Hopefully it will do well as the season continues. Great job Fox at created an interesting and entertaining show that I as well as others can enjoy!!!
Excellent job with the cast. Ms. Henson portrayal of Cookie is spot on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two highly promoted so-so rated episodes don’t make for a real hit.
FOX is desperate to pretend all is well even as the network is falling into oblivion with viewers, but that doesn’t excuse the press helping them sell us the ridiculous idea that a mediocrely-rated show deserves immediate renewal.
Speaking of which the renewals of flops Gotham and Brooklyn 9-9 (aka Flop 9-9) show that Mr. Madden is the new Kevin Reilly… 🙁
Well I for one enjoy it so thank you for the renewal can’t please everyone.
The point is that FOX is pleasing fewer and fewer people and while you’ll always find fans like you (or street-teamers!) to support the renewal of the most abject failure (like New Girl, Mindy Project or Brooklyn 9-9) overall this is very bad for viewers as they’re left with very little of quality to watch.
FOX keeps making bad shows that get bad ratings and keeps renewing flops.
What is there to like about that?
