The producers of Flashpoint have announced the end of their beloved cop series after 75 episodes and five seasons.
Created by Stephanie Morgenstern and Mark Ellis in 2007 for CTV in Canada. CBS came on board as a production partner in 2008 and Flashpoint ran for three seasons as a successful utility player for the network. CBS made a deal to take on some of the episodes from the fourth season and then ION made a deal to take on the rest, as part of a syndication package.
CTV renewed Flashpoint for a fifth season and, in January, ION followed suit. Production began in February and will supposedly wrap in June. We don’t know when they’ll air but we do know that those will be the TV show’s final episodes.
In a message to fans on Facebook, the producers wrote:
To the Flashpoint Family:
Today we announced to our cast and crew that this will be our final season of FLASHPOINT. While still at our creative apex, we’ve decided to conclude the series on a high note. This will allow us to give our fans the satisfaction of a fitting series conclusion with our 75th, and final, episode. Producing FLASHPOINT over the past five seasons has been an exceptional adventure, and we are extremely grateful to all of you for being with us every step of the way. We hope that by announcing this now, you’ll be able to enjoy the fifth season to the utmost, and properly say goodbye to Team 1 along with all of us.
In response to numerous messages to fans, the producers later wrote, “Thanks to all the fans for your support! It wouldn’t have been the same without you. We promise to deliver a memorable final chapter.”

This is horrible news to me! Flashpoint is the best program on TV! No show can compare to it! I set my alarm to watch it! You need to bring it back! I will quit watching ION completely if it is canceled! All the other programs are the same old crap and not worth taking up my time! Bring it back please!
Please bring the show back with all the same people. We like the show. And would love if it came back on it seems like a lot of places a mare getting rid of a lot of shows people like. Witch is kinda dumb. Just cuz there low rating. Does not mean people don’t watch it give it time. Another good show they took off (not ion). Is a show called gang related. It was grate I watch it since it first aired. Stop canceling shows we all love please !!!

Please make more episodes of flash point I have never been so into a show like this one. I just finished the season on Netflix and I have no idea what I’m going to watch now 🙁

I really love this show. This is my favorite . Sam and jouls has me they are great people. Boss and Eddie omg they are brave they get my heart. Gordy, spike. Lea kaj josh, I love them all they are great I think they should keep going. This is my life I love this movie I’m almost through season five. You guys can’t leave . one more season . kisses to all of them..
This show is AWESOME! Very upset to see it come to an end. Spinoff?
Waaaayyyy gonna miss it. Next season, bring BOSS back totally healed and explore the dynamic of him overtaking control of the Team OR learning to to take orders from Eddie. This is too good to just let it go. We are then left with tired ass reality tv and re-runs from ION.
I watched this amazing series since it first aired, and now continue to watch it in syndication. I will never get tired of it. I truly wish the producers would reconsider their decision to end such a fabulous series. One of the best I have ever watched. The story lines kept me intrigued every episode. The writing superb, the acting amazing. We, “the fans” need to petition to bring Flashpoint back with same actors!!! Please Producers hear my plea!!
Could NOT agree more … there are so many TRASH TV shows right now – NONE which are teaching solid values. Kardashians, Cait, Hamilton & Stewert — who cares? FLASHPOINT brought real issues to the attention of the public. Of course it’s fiction, but if one assesses, the story lines are straight from the headlines. We all need heroes. Give us back our Team 1 …

I just completed Season 5 and cried like a baby. I LOVED this tv Series. I’m heartbroken to find out now that the series will not be returning. The entire cast was outstanding. I would love to one day see this show return, same cast of course.
