As expected, there won’t be a second season for Gang Related. FOX has cancelled the summer cop drama after one season of 13 episodes.
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.

The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers.
That was a poor showing right out of the gate and the ratings got even worse as the weeks progressed.
It ended up being one of FOX’s worst-performing summer series. Despite having a small but loyal audience, it was expected that the network would cancel the show.
The final episode, which aired August 14th, left plenty of things unresolved.

This show needs a chance, put it in a fall slot at primetime and watch this show become an epidemic! Ryan is someone the audience wants to hug, the cast is amazing, I remember Chappell when he first came out as an actor and I was a little kid watching the step father, scared the crap out of me when he said “here’s daddy!” But all in all the show had so many ways to turn, it’s remarkable that fox doesn’t at least let it run on one of their poor networks, fx or something, there’s so much crap on… Read more »
This show really had a chance to be another Sons Of Anarchy fame had the put it on in some other quarter. Once school was back on and the weather was colder it would have done well. If they had lined it up after SOA they would have had a hit to slip right in once SOA was gone. Damn foolish planning if they intend to have high value shows to sell commercials on. Some of the programmers seem like amateurs time and again
I agree with most everything I have seen posted on here. I also believe this show deserves another season, possibly on another channel. The show had just started to really address some issues and push some major buttons! I certainly hope someone reads these comments and considers them. Give Gang Related another season to prove itself.

NOT HAPPY! This was a GREAT summer series. It should be given a chance. However, I can see it being a better fit on FX. Fingers crossed that’ll happen.

Gang Related was such a great Summer series but Fox made the right choice to cancel it despite low ratings.
Are yoy kidding?! So disappointing to hear that wevwon’t find out what is going to happen. I really looked forward to this show as did many other friends & relatives. Shocking to find out viewers’ numbers were low. BOOOOO!! What is the likelihood of it staying alive if it goes to another network? I hope there is a chance. It’s a riveting an intense show. I applaud those involved with making that show happen.
Huge fan of series and think it should be picked up by FX for another season.
