NBC is making some more changes in late night. Carson Daly, the longtime host of Last Call with Carson Daly, is leaving the show as part of a new deal with the peacock network.
He’s joining The Today Show as the host of the morning program’s new social media area called The Orange Room. It will be a lounge-like setting and Daly will act as an intermediary between viewers (via social media) and the show’s hosts and guests.
Today will unveil the show’s new set, including The Orange Room section, in Studio 1A in New York on Monday, September 16th.
Daly will continue to host and produce The Voice which returns for season five on Monday, September 23rd. He’ll also continue to executive produce Last Call with plans for a host transition at a later date.
NBC has also made a first-look development deal with Daly for new scripted and alternative programs.
What do you think? Does The Orange Room sound interesting? Are you sorry Daly is leaving Last Call as host?
